I know there’s nothing worse than some dickhead (me) talking about when they played, as if I have the remotest clue how amazing these players are. But even my team would have gotten screamed at for that. Everyone ball watching.

Defending is something that has to be worked on… it cannot just be left to chance.
And people are still backing a manager that sets his team out like that

Remember of course that the move starts with Palmer pinned up against the far touchline. Overloading that side in that moment is how every pressing ball-recovery team wants to set up, to take away that player's passing options.

For Palmer to skin Udogie so badly then take on three others to deliver a straight ball across the top of the box (albeit deflected) is supposed to be impossible.
Very worrying 6 players can be in a defensive third doing absolutely nothing to affect the play. Woeful

if you analyse more matches & observe the shape - esp in defense - you will notice some consistency.
That's why we keep losing matches. We need a new tactics /fomation/defensive coach(es) badly -whatever you want to call it.
Here- versus Brighton(2-3) - the last goal - we have 5 guys trying to stop a floaty cross onto Welbeck's path
AGAIN - 5 guys can't stop one seagull and 2 guys ball-watching while Welbeck sauntered in with a header.
2 Seagulls versus 8 spursies.
AGAIN - all 10 spurs players back in the box.
