Match Tottenham v Manchester United - Carabao Cup - Thursday 19th at 8PM

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think we will squeak over the line with this one, United def more interested in the league.

We need an upset in either the Liverpool or Woolwich game though as I can’t see us laying a glove on them over 2 legs currently. Newcastle will throw everything at Brentford and I expect them to win comfortably. I’d fancy us in the home leg against Newcastle but our recent record at their place is abysmal.

Knowing our luck though we will probably get an exhilarating win over United, only to draw Liverpool 20 minutes later

Interestingly on red cafe they seem completely non plussed by this game and want to focus completely on Sunday vs Bournemouth in the league.

Interesting if Amorim feels the same! I hope we field a team who fucking wants it!

The league cup just isn’t a big deal to fans of most top clubs. It’s a big deal to us because we are desperate for ANY trophy.

They’ve won it a couple of times in their shit era so it doesn’t represent the same sort of thing to them.

So you think a bit of singing is going to make a man who negotiates hard to just resign as CEO. ENIC are not controlled by Levy but a trust and would still be there. What it could do is make a toxic attitude that belittles our attempt to go further in the League cup.
I don't want a little singing. I want far more than that, I wanna see it as loud and toxic as possible, on every platform available and for however long it takes to get that cancer to leave our great football club. All within the boundaries of the law, of course, but it's really gotta go up 100 notches.

He might get lucky and see us win a domestic cup and/or the EL, but that sure doesn't mean he's good at his job. And to be honest, Levy doesn't deserve success, he deserves fuck all but the proverbial boot up the arse. His tenure has been an abject failure and unless a miracle happens, we won't win shit under him...despite being ultra friggin rich.

We need to stop acting all shy and worrying about what the outside world gonna think. Fuck the outside world and fuck political correctness. We've tried that pussy act and it's gotten us nowhere, Levy is laughing at us. Time to show him who's really boss. No more Mr Nice Guy. Fuck him. You don't win a fight by gently tapping your opponent on the shoulder or bending over before them.

Ten Hag was hard to love, but take the cups away and he would have lasted much shorter, the only argument left to keep him for his last season start

The FA cup maybe but the FA cup still holds weight, a lot more weight than the league cup.

Winning a league cup has never kept anyone in a top 6 job and never would. We cared about performance in it so little that we sacked Jose before the final.

FA cup is more prestigious than League Cup. Still, winning that didn't earn Ten Hag much credit. They just used the option in his contract, to avoid him entering into final year of his deal without any new deal in sight. Hardly a vote of confidence. Rather, INEOS were busy with other matters so they considered replacing the manager an afterthought. Even then they were still quick to pull the plug earlier this season.

Our situation is different though. We're in such an unusual trophy drought for a club of this magnitude that a LC win alone would probably earn Ange another season. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised with an early season sack next year in Ten Hag fashion. This mid-table form won't cut it infinitely
