Match Tottenham v Manchester United - Carabao Cup - Thursday 19th at 8PM

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah, tbh I think we’ve painted ourselves into a corner somewhat with quotas and some bad squad management. I don’t think Austin or Whiteman are seen as anything special, I think they are quite literally still here to serve a quota which we’re hoping in the next years will be served by outfield players counting toward it allowing us to potentially move them on.

All CT; potentially solving our issues over the coming seasons:

Moore
Lankshire
Dorrington
Divine
Donley

All can become HG if handled correctly before their 21st bday:

Odobert
Gray
Yang
Phillips
Vuskovic
Bergval

We're finally transitioning out of a bad period that saw virtually no-one kick on and many leave due to lack of opportunity since the Kane, Andros, Mason, Carroll, Winks, Skipp days.

Maybe I’m missing something, but why do we keep those two if they are worse than Forster? They are 26 and 25, so it’s not as if they’re kids with a big future.
Home grown quota and I should think club trained. Sadly neither seem to have much ambition. Would be worth loaning 1 to a Championship club to give him some experience and see how they perform. Not a sensible scenario as it stands.

I prefer him even more to Udogie at left back. On Sunday Ange will drop him and Udogie will get torn to bits from Salah. Spence is better than Udogie at everything. He’s a better passer, defender, more aggressive, better in the air, works harder,is a threat going forward and has so much more enthusiasm for the game but I guarantee you Udogie starts on Sunday.
Not sure about that. Udogie kept salah quiet at home match and we won 2-1. Think he also got jota sent off for a second bookable offence. Tbh i hope udogie plays.

I totally forgot about the HG factor. That looks like quite a tasty bunch now I've got my head screwed on.

*Semi... we beat Forest in the final!!

He was inside the 18 yard box when we took the goal kick

Wonder if that's something VAR would have picked up on given no one on the field (as far as I could see) complained about it?

Obviously no VAR was involved so it's very much a hypotheitcal but I think "all goals are checked" under VAR's remit - I wonder if that goes for minor technical violations that shit refs and officials don't seem to remember these days (like the many foul throws United committed)

The amount of people who are bothered about what rival fans say is crazy.

Rival fans should always take the piss out of each other.

So soft.

If it's not Ange...it'll be something else.

I think meeting the home grown quota is a major part of it.

But HG would mean nothing if they are never used.

It would be better to have let one of them move on so that he could have game time at his new club, even if it’s at a lower level.

If the club trusts the gks from the youth sides more than these two, then they should both move on for game time elsewhere.

Austin has just signed a new 5 year contract and is not going anywhere. Whiteman’s contract finishes at the end of the season and he’s likely to move on.

We only have 2 CT players being these two gk’s. If we didn’t have them our Europa team would be reduced from 23 to 21 which when you have 10 injured players is a bit of a disaster.

Another way to look at it, in the absence of Austin and Whiteman we would have to sign another GK taking up one of our Johnny Foreigner or HG non-CT spots which we only get 17 and 4 respectively.

The dinosaurs Carragher and Neville will bang on but Forster is the sole reason United got back in that game. He'll know that.

However United were the better team in the first half imo and we have massive issues on our right. Either Porro is the problem or the system or both - but it needs sorting.

Christ I love/hate this team 😂
Then he changed at half time and it stopped. It was tactical as Man u targeted the right. If it wasn't for the keeper fucking up we would be talking about how Ange nullified in the second.
