But HG would mean nothing if they are never used.

It would be better to have let one of them move on so that he could have game time at his new club, even if it’s at a lower level.

If the club trusts the gks from the youth sides more than these two, then they should both move on for game time elsewhere.
Austin has just signed a new 5 year contract and is not going anywhere. Whiteman’s contract finishes at the end of the season and he’s likely to move on.

We only have 2 CT players being these two gk’s. If we didn’t have them our Europa team would be reduced from 23 to 21 which when you have 10 injured players is a bit of a disaster.

Another way to look at it, in the absence of Austin and Whiteman we would have to sign another GK taking up one of our Johnny Foreigner or HG non-CT spots which we only get 17 and 4 respectively.

Astonishing really spence hasnt played more games and earlier. Good player and prefer him at right back to porro.
I’d say he is better than both our starting FBs. Has great skill as well as that lung burst pace to get forward and get back. Not many players are going to get past him. He played a lot of simple passes to keep the ball as well as tried to play lovely through balls. Pass for 3rd goal was great vision. If that kulu everyone would be creaming themselves. Very understated. Hopefully he keeps his head down and keeps performing. See no reason why he can’t be a starter.

I agree, we haven’t got much choice in the matter as neither Austin or Whiteman are good enough.

What’s concerning is when the camera kept focusing on Forster it looked like his head had gone which is an absolute no no for a keeper.

The combination of our suicidal play out from the back policy, the under hit passes and Forster seemingly not detecting the danger is something that Ange shouldn’t let happen again, especially when one of Forster’s biggest flaws is with the ball at his feet. I just hope Ange doesn’t continue with it as a) teams will target Forster and b) we cannot under any circumstances have Forster lose his head again as there’s no alternatives.
The guy is 37 so should be experienced enough to handle this things and also have the in game intelligence of what to do and what not to do. He is the most experienced player in the defence and he let the 18 yr olds down.

When you say tweaked our approach, what do you suggest we do?

Because we could have sat in at 1-0 but we went out and attacked and that got us a 3-0 lead, we didn't tweak our approach then so why was it necessary to tweak the approach which was successful particularly when our goalie decided to give them 2 goals?
What it means is that the 2 goals we gave were not from any great attacking play by us leaving us exposed or from manure creating anything. They were from our own down fall where we have the ball in our own pen box. There was another incident where Forster rolls the ball out to biss instead of holding on to the ball and taking his time. What it needs is just some common sense play. However at the eod the goals are simply down to Forster fucking up.

That's literally what I said

Have to say that was almost a disaster. Those two goals were horrific to concede - as bad as I have ever seen. That United team is awful and they started a few bench players as well for some reason.
We are down to bare bones though and credit where its due to win the game and progress. Looked completely shagged with 30 mins left.
They will be even more fucked after having to roll the dice and play the last half hour when we could have relaxed, conserved energy and stayed calm like at Southampton but of course not!
Makes Sunday even tougher now.

Hardest draw but fuck it - better to play Liverpool now than in the final if we got there. Rather the other two in a final tbh.
We need to beat them Sunday and in the semi just for what carra said about spurs pre match. That he knew dippers would win CL final as it’s spurs and we don’t win trophies like that or any trophy.
