If Sandro and Capoue are fit they should play and be tasked with mopping that scum up all over the middle of the park.

I'm unsure of Lamela starting this match. West Ham will be well up for this, and Lamela might be a better option off the bench.

You know what, this kid already had last season off damn near so it is time to sink or swim in my book. I want to see 30 million pound goals flying in from all directions. He's clearly got the talent to be a very good player now we need to see if he's got the bollocks and this will be a good starting point.

And I think he might well do it this season, well perhaps at least have a very good season but there is something about this match, on opening day that makes me consider the work rate of Lennon on the right a greater prospect for the first 60 minutes, before Lamela is introduced.

Bearing in mind that wanting a £30m player to do something but having no real indication that he will, for me, suggest a relatively cautious approach (and Lennon is hardly a cautious player in the grand scheme of things) isn't a bad thing.

For some reason I don't have the usual excitement ahead of a new season. Maybe it's because I haven't watched the friendlies, or because I didn't have internet for a month so I missed the majority of our transfer news/speculation, but really Saturday just feels like a normal day for me. Hope I perk up before then!
