I'd start with the full defence, they need minutes in their legs before next week. Give Udogie the first 45 and 60 mins for Romero/VDV.

That's a perfectly possible starting X1 for this match - refamiliarises the defence who will be playing together for the first time this season. But everyone else played in preseason.

I expect the subs bench to have everyone else who is fit (so probably not Richarlison or Foster) on it - and I am half suspecting Lo Celso, Reguilon and Solomon to be on the bench to try to bluff potential buyers they might have a future at Spurs.

So the bench could be large with maybe 16 players :

Austin, Whiteman, Spence, Dragusin, Gray, Davies, Skipp, Bentancur, Bergvall, Werner, Devine, Donley, Lankshear, Reguilon, Lo Celso, Solomon and of course Solanke might make bench too

So even which subs are brought on and which not may not tell us that much about the squad or starting X1 v Leicester : although I am still pretty sure Reguilon, Lo Celso and Solomon will not be in the EL squad but its possible one or two of them might make PL squad if none of Lankshear Devine and Donley stay with the squad.

I remember being so chuffed for the start of the season with that one and learnt my lesson- we were just back in European football and we’d won the league cup so think my expectations were hightened - certainly wasn’t expecting redknapp!
