I find that it’s the short term memory that goes first

You can say something and about 15 mins later you get asked the same question whereas they can still remember events from their childhood

A good friend of mine died from the disease last year and it wasn’t easy seeing him go down and down but occasionally the mist used to clear and you saw his old mischievous self!

His wife still not over it but we help when we can
The sad thing is Baz I rely on her to tell me when cousins, nieces, nephews and the rest of our big extended family have birthdays!!

We definitely improved in both games against BM, when the youngsters came on.
I don't know if the more senior players are too comfortable or take their position for granted, but they need to buck their ideas up.
I'm not too fussed about the results of pre-season games, but I do expect to see some semblance of a game plan.

When the youngsters came on we looked like we did during the good times last season.

So are the senior players just knackered or disillusioned? Something's up and it's still rumbling on.

my feeling is that some of the senior players just don't support ange's approach to defending
Senior players would have played at other clubs and worked under various manager/coaches so seen different approaches to playing
I know how I would feel if we had worked hard to score only to concern a silly set-piece goal, ( surely Pro players feel the same ?)

Suggesting someone has dementia because they "forgot" something in a purely hypothetical situation when your own footballing expertise pails compared to an actual premier league manager is a poor turn of phrase at best. If you don't think that could be inconsiderate then I don't know what to tell you.

People forget things all the time. I forget what my wife tells me constantly. Doesn't mean that I must have dementia.
Thank You for the educational experience. But we'll agree to disagree. I find it highly odd, that referring to dementia and a person who does not have it, is to you more inconsiderate that calling a person a "C.nt". Makes me wonder 🤔

It's not a good idea to refer to dementia in a light-hearted way, as part of general forum banter. The scourge of dementia has affected too many of our loved ones for it to be mentioned casually, as you did. I can understand why SpiderSpurs SpiderSpurs got arsey with you. Probably best to try to understand it? There will be quite a few people here who have been unable to prevent a family member from slipping gradually into the hell-hole that is dementia. Times have changed - the word is no longer 'acceptable banter'.

Hope you understand.
I have lost 3 close family members to dimentia. Including my Great Gran on my Birthday. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enermy.

Have you ever used or heard the saying, "Calm Down, don't get a heart attack". Are you then being insensitive to people who have lost Loved ones to a Heart-attack. I've lost many Loved Ones to Heart Attacks but don't take any offence.

The person who I was replying to is actually more angry at me Voicing about Levy and Ange than me using word 'Dimentia'. You've been roped into siding with a Levy Apologist.

On the Bright side Gray is definitely a Good Signing. I'd play him left Back and push Porro up to RM. Porro isn't the best at defending but he constantly passes forward accurately and has a half decent cross. Gray defends like a machine, he is composed on the ball and is Great at playing out from the back.

I don’t believe that for a second mate. Also if you’re on the pitch and there’s a spare player at the back post as what happens often you sort it. Once you cross that white line you deal with it no matter what and then you deal with it in the dressing room.

If you're going to insist on your right to continue to use the term dementia in a light-hearted, bantzy sort of way, you might at least learn how to spell it ffs.

Youngsters come in to preseason with a different mindset to established players - they are coming in to try and impress/earn a place in the match day squad. We'll likely see a much different turn out from the established players once competitive football resumes.

The senior players? They're laughing all the way to the bank.

"Grass is a grass at the end of the day"

If you knew that a kid had been fiddled, and by whom or if a friend had been raped and you knew the perpetrator you'd keep it to yourself then?

Or are there in fact situations where you'd be a "grass"?

Grow the fuck up. If everyone reported any sort of wrong-doing in the world, it would be a far more pleasant place.

For the record any discrimination on here should be reported.

For sure, there are times when being a grass as absolutely the right thing to do. Joking in poor taste is not one of those.

You think mocking dementia is ok? Well I, and many others don't - I'll report it any time I see it.

If you think that stuff goes without a word, then I would suggest you don't pay as much attention as you're alluding you do.

Rightly so.

No, I don’t. Without going into too my personal detail, it’s an affliction I have to deal with every day.

I just think there are things people say on here which are far worse that don’t go unpunished.

You have to strike a balance between cancel culture and rooting out the proper cunts.
