I don't agree there is "no system" or that it's just "press press press". But I do think naive is a very good description, a word I've used myself previously, I also agree about Ange maybe lacking tactical sophistication too.

Also, when the recruitment failed, so did Poch's system, likewise Conte.

I am absolutely prepared to accept that Ange maybe too naive or lacks tactical (or even coaching) sophistication for this level, regardless of the squad. But I am also adamant this squad is fucking meh at it's best. If we think the recruitment is what ultimately let Poch down, then it is fair to say that regardless of Ange's failings, it certainly hasn't done him any favours either. This team lacks PL quality all over the pitch.
you could be quite correct it is a poor enough squad. But on the other hand would would say slot get a lot more out of them.
Even below that level Howe, iraola, emery?? I think they def would

I honestly don't think he can be any worse, and he has to coach under Ange's direction.

I agree, i do think that Mason is naturally more pragmatic, but if he's worth his salt he's worked with some fine managers.

For my money and I have been a season ticket holder for almost forty years, I fire Ange, put Mason in charge for the rest of the season and then clean house.

Clear all of the first team coaches out.

If the new manger wants to cut deeper than clean house out totally.

Retaining anyone in the coaching set up is not moving forward, it's not going to improve morale, mindset or set a ground zero.

Only a new Manager and his team can do this.

The problem with the manager death spiral is that it becomes self fulfilling.

The fans have lost confidence and see errors everywhere where once they didn't.

The team losses confidence because the fans are on their back.

The manager losses confidence because the team isn't performing. Making him panic and start doing things in desperation. Making things worse.

And on and on it spirals. The only thing that can stop the spiral is winning. And a rather decent winning sequence at that. I dont think Ange has the nous and I dont think this team has the mentality.

As individual players nearly all have the ability under the right conditions. To play at a club like Spurs wouldn't be easy. Mug footballers do not make teams like Spurs.

Fans are rightly a lot less forgiving. Rightly so, nobody here is earning, and fans aren't paying spare change.

A footballer with a certain mentality is needed at Spurs. That in my humble is what has been lacking at least in the players. And indeed in the stubbin manager.

The same Bournemouth , that had they won today would be sitting 5th in the PL.
They've smashed Forest , Newcastle away 4-1, beaten the goons , City and others. They were on a 14/15 game unbeaten run until recently despite having ten players out.
They are a very good side.
Are they though? We played like a team that had just had 2 hours sleep after a massive bender, with Romero looking for all the world like he wanted his contract cancelling
And they failed to win.

Either that or we, despite our desperate desire to commit footballing suicide aren't all that bad.

I am sure that the management reviews videos of the oppositions prior to the game, and this being the case , our manager , (you would think) would have emphasised to the players how quick the Bournemouth side close teams down. We’re not just too slow, they are forcing these errors. We can’t go into every game with the same tactics, it’s insane.
It’s the holding on to the ball too long which allows them to close down. If you release the ball quicker then they won’t have as much time to close down. Even berg when he came on was guilty of it and they take ball off him. Good job kulu wasn’t playing he is guilty of it the most.

Oh come on mate, look at this squad. It's mediocre at best. Apart from maybe VDV when he is fully fit and some youth players showing potential what others look great and would get into any current top 6 team. This is what happens when you have a chairman who plays God with transfers next to a director of football who is clueless. I agree Ange is shite and there is no coaching on that squad. But the squad is terrible as well. Like I said club needs ownership change and gutting.
He agreed to most of the signings. That starting forward line was his!

Part of that was players like Bentancur, Sarr, Johnson and others not showing for the ball.

There was a point later on when Maddison had the ball and he dribbled one way and then the other looking for a pass and nobody showed at all.
