Can't get worked about scraping a one goal victory against a team of turnip farmers...thought we were crap..luckily they were crappier but they still gave us a scare...

Also - if any of you fuckers want to watch true athletic endurance and skill performed at its highest level over several hours you should watch Aussie Rules.

Tottenham should hire some of their experts.

The name is ironic isn’t it?? There are no rules? It just “Rules”!!

Used to enjoy watching that nonsense game. Basketball, football, rugby combined with set of extra goal posts than in any other sport.

The only way it could be improved was of 20 kangaroos were released into the pitch each game to fight people and steal the ball.

How drunk were the people who invented that game!!

That's like showing a Joey Barton two footer and caling it example of Premier League football.

FWIW I've played both to a decent level and Australian Rules is absolutely brutal on the body in ways that football just isn't -and its all within the rules!

That's the thing though, no they don't.

Management of the physical toll and grind on players is all the rage in American sports, and in football the cries of players about their inability to be at their best with the way fixtures continue to proliferate gets ever louder.
NBA or NHL, 82 games a season is a heck of a lot, especially when you add in all the travel...America ain't a small country like England. Basketball and hockey players are well within their right to demand fewer games (incl the ones played abroad/NBA) and to have the option of sitting out a game here and there. But the NBA is far worse than the PL when it comes to being obsessed with cash, even if that means players' health being at risk. Adam Silver is rotten.

Maybe Ange ought to play differently. Maybe training or other factors can be managed in a different or better way.
Absolutely, brother. Definitely things that we can do internally to help the situation.

Besides the inaccuracy littered through out.
Care to elaborate?

The issue is not that they can’t play, the issue is that if they come up against someone who hasn’t played the equivalent minutes in a row/same timeframe, they won’t be as fresh and fit as them.
Ah okay, so let's just make sure players from team X are as fresh/tired as those from team Y. Gotta keep things even, ya know.

Well it would be an example of premier league football!! Spot on. Happens all the time.

Here’s a “specky” just for you anyway. Just as ridiculous!!

It's relative though. They are playing other elite athletes and if their opponents have an extra few percent to give because they haven't accumulated as much fatigue over the season, our players look tired compared to them.

Even with the NBA, a team can look jaded on the second night of a back-to-back fixture, especially if a flight was involved. But it's jaded relative to the opponent.
Totally get your point, good Sir. But it's always been like that and will always be like that. Didn't use to complain about it before, when we won plenty games.

As Fighting said, gotta look at the way we do things internally, for sure there's room for improvement.

But even if you leave the comparison with US sports aside, I still think Porro & co shouldn't be that shattered and still they should be able to perform at a higher level. The way they're being excused/defended right now, it doesn't sit all that well with me for the reasons I detailed in my original post. Plus, some of the ones having a right pop at me were the same shitting all over the barcodes that time we played them and the pundits said about a zillion times how they were exhausted cause of the CL campaign.
