I'm glad we won today. But somehow the frantic nature of our players always in burst of energy is getting me really worried our injured players are not getting back in time to cover our current players, who run risk of getting injured themselves or having performance hit.

My point being we can be a highly pressing team without being so draining. If I'm honest Ange ball is a mess currently with no pacing and rhythm in the game. IMO we are so short in numbers, so all the more we should be pacing ourselves and controlling the throughput. This is what bothers me about Ange at the moment.

Oh, look, it may be the fault of Ange's tactics that our players are so tired.

But they are in fact very tired, that was where my incredulity came from.

Was probably replying to those who were very focal that we would have been better this game if we started him / broght him in earlier.

Responded to the one message with a wider point.
 
We were much more direct and got out in transition more often than usual, so that’s good. Even though I can’t help but think that this was primarily due to playing against a team that made Southampton look like defensive juggernauts.

That being said, we still can’t control matches. They played through us as easily as we did through them, due to us leaving vast spaces between the lines even when we were supposed to be sitting back and staying compact. We just aren’t used to it, for the obvious reason that it’s not a point of emphasis for our manager.

This match was a good example of how Ange envisions football to be played. A high variance end-to-end affair where both teams create good amounts of chances, and the winner is decided by who is more clinical or fortunate in front of the goal. It was us today.

What I described is dangerously close to a coin flip though, and you have no chance of obtaining consistent results with coin flips in the long run. That'll always be Ange's Achilles heel as a manager.

Back to football. Much as I Love Son, he's 32. He been played way too much and if you know a fully fit Son, you'll know he isn't a shadow of himself. Do you think he would had made that ball unchallenged against RM, Liverpool, Barcelona.....? Maybe in your mind but definitely not in reality.

I see a player that has lost a yard of pace and is struggling to adapt his game at the moment but I do know from that sort of position and angle Sonny sticks it away and he did , not having his best season and he’s missed some sitters , well according to us mere mortals but he’s still a goal threat and confidence is low .
