The one thing I know is that United are the more difficult opponent for us, should we make the final.
There is something completely unfair about that club and how it finds a way to win trophies, in the exact same way we always find a way to fall short.
In a final I just don't see how we would beat them,regardless of the results against them this season.

I don’t know. United are a shambles of a club at present.They’ve been resorting to sticking slabhead up top towards the end of games to try and steal a result. Although, the fact that it has been working is a bit concerning as it’s just written in the stars that it’d happen to us.
But then on the other hand (if we manage to beat Bodo/Glimt of course as it is by no means a certainty), playing Bilbao in the final in their own stadium during the send off game for their captain/club legend isn’t exactly going to be a walk in the park either.
Either way, it’s going to be tough. We are a right state at the moment.

Agreed, I don't know what the fascination with wanting Bilbao over Utd, the odds are stacked against us because they are playing in their home stadium and they're actually a good team.
Maybe people are scared of the banter if we lose against Utd or something...

It's a European trophy - I'd get more out of playing a foreign team than an English team we've played 00s of times before. Playing Liverpool in the final of the CL took the gloss off it as an event for me
The “idea” that United would miraculously be better than us in a final, even though we’ve proven too much for them every time this season, is exactly that, an idea.
It’s not something tangible or based on reality, it’s a self-fulfilling, unconscious belief that somehow only ever happens because it feels like it will happen

If villa had won yesterday our game at villa would have been moved to Wednesday 14th so if we make the EL final don’t see why the prem would refuse - villa might not be too happy though
