Ex-Spurs Player Victor Wanyama

Why no Dier...?

Played the least of the latter stage yids.

Dier/Dembele still very much our strongest combo so as long as they're fit we'll be fine as we iron out a few early season creases, but beyond that yeh, it becomes more of a concern.

I think the concern with the players who went deep in the WC isn't so much rest as having a preseason to ramp up to playing. The whole idea of sending them out on holiday is to be able to start them back up from 0 in a couple weeks time.

This recurring knee injury is a concern. He was a shadow of the player he was in his first season for us.

Even when he came back from injury he was really poor, sloppy slow and lethargic.

Can’t afford to be missing big Vic for a prolonged period again. Our lack of dept in CM will only be highlighted. Winks is injured too and Dembele is running on fumes

That leaves Dier. :dierno:

I really don't want him to turn into a new Sandro but this knee injury seems to cast him in that role sadly.

Great when healthy but a player we will have to be selective with

I don’t think professional athletes go back to 0 after a couple of weeks holiday. After a long term injury, maybe. But I don’t think they’ll all report for training sporting beer tits & nicotine stained fingers.

Did we rush him back again ?!? Or what the hell is going on.

I am so irritated at this minimalistic info that is being shared about injuries... I mean look what happened in Lamela's case - ppl already came up with total bs stories. If there is no information, ppl will make up some!

Starting to worry that we'd have to cope another season without big Vic as it stands :( :(

Anyone have any news on my injury? I'm in complete darkness about it and fearing surgery at this point. Any information would be much appreciated.

Tottenham have been handed a major injury boost with news that midfielder Victor Wanyama has returned to training.

The Kenyan captain suffered a recurrence of a knee injury which he picked up last summer during Spurs’ US pre-season tour.

That injury kept the midfielder out of Spurs’ first two games of the season, but the club confirmed that Wanyama has returned to training ahead of their trip to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

However, the clash against Man United will come too soon for Wanyama, whose return is a huge boost to the Mauricio Pochettino led side.
