I think people have been beaten into submission.
Yep, 25 years of slow rot... I stopped caring about 7/8 years ago when it was obvious what was happening. The men's first team squad is like the placenta after child birth. Something to eventually be expelled. Spurs is my club. Will always be my club. But these cunts don't get a penny more from me until the day they are no longer here. The one game I've been to since I stopped caring was because someone paid for me and my son's tickets as a treat but I didn't buy anything in the ground. Also, my son can make his own decision (note: he loved it and has joined the season ticket waiting list). I'm surprised it's taken this long for ENIC to relegate us. Again, if people think they care about this, then think again. Look at the January window. What club in our position doesn't panic and chuck everything at it, even if it means breaking a few rules. Not us, we sell our only fit winger and replace him with another do nothing midfielder and an 18 year old from the favela's in Brazil. The model ENIC have been slowly nurturing is a model where football EBITDA is a footnote, dwarfed by non football EBITDA. If I get 300m out of football income today, I probably have to spend 350m on transfers and wages etc. At best I might get away with spending 300m. To get from 300m revenue to 400m I need regular CL football which will cost me another 100-200m on transfers and wages. It just simply isn't worth it, when the best result you can have is to barely breaking even. Now non football income is much more profitable. To make 200m from hotel, concerts, go-karts etc. they probably only have to spend about 20-30m to generate that revenue. That is what they are aiming for. The football side is unpredictable and not worth the effort. Going down to the Championship means they lose out on millions. They may generate 100m and that's it. But here's the thing. They probably only need to spend 75m to generate that income, leaving them with a small profit. In 25 years, there has been no evidence to suggest they care deeply about the club and it's position as one of the top clubs in the world. So why should we care anymore... go watch your local non league side. Far more entertaining, you can drink a beer at pitch side, the standard isn't that bad and win, lose or draw you don't get the fucking hump!!!
