All he seems to do is get Frank his coffee for him!
Again though, if you're trying to defend the performance of the scouting department, then referring to a chunk of the players they've scouted as "the shit that clutters your squad" doesn't seem like a particularly strong starting point...Fee and wages are a huge part of what makes a player sellable or unsellable. Not being able to sell a (senior) player means he occupies a (limited) squad place or we have to take a bath on subsidizing loans or permanent moves. Younger, cheaper players are easier to move and the losses smaller. Jack Clarke vs Tanguy N’Dombele. The idea that you can just get rid of shit that clutters your squad is ‘football manager’ stuff.
Most opinion suggests otherwise.
He was our player of the season last year.
All clubs make bad buys.
City or United can write off an expensive bad buy far easier than we can. Having an extra £200m a year helps with that. They can write off an Anthony. Not helped by ownership that wants to recoup every penny on every bad deal.
Obviously, I’d rather us make fewer mistakes and our recruiting since 2019 has been mostly poor in that we’ve overpaid for average players.
I’m not trying to defend them at all.Your final line makes it seem as though you basically agree that they've been poor, so I'm not so sure why your so staunchly trying to defend them.
The greenwood link had passed me by so fair enough, no de zerbi eitherHe'd already handed in his notice.
Meanwhile you want De Zerbi..... Go figure.
It's who we are...
Yep... two cunts cuddling in a corner until the inevitable happens and someone takes the decision out of his hands.Reckon he’s in trouble with Frank.
Levy could hire and fire with impunity. Vinai can’t because he’s replaceable.
Frank was his first big call and it’s been a disaster. If he asks the board for money to sack Frank and hire a new coach, his position under the Lewis family will be almost untenable. He’s holding onto Frank for dear life.
I thought Frank was a Levy appointment?Reckon he’s in trouble with Frank.

Definitely Vinai
Either way we really should be appointing an experienced DoF and delegating recruitment decisions to them, both player and managers.
Succession planning from Levy?
Yeah, don’t hire Gooners. Not difficult, is it?
Levy had 25 years of chances and resets under ENIC. Why will they suddenly be so quick to pull the trigger on CEOs now? They haven't had a sudden change of heart about on-field matters. They've done nothing to indicate they careRegardless I still think Vinai can pass it off as Levy
It's his one get out of jail free card, he can blame Levy this time and have a reset - but only this once and so he'd need to get it right

Yeah but like I say, why does he need to shift the blame to Levy? Top 6, Top 10, top half, bottom half, sacked manager, wrong manager, I dont think ENIC give a shit.I mean it's his chance to make a move without it obviously being on him
He can blame Levy, give himself a chance to get it right and get the fans inside
They were against Levy years ago, this is Vinai's last chance at a clean slate
Quite a few not turning up these days. 57k last night. Take away the 9k Villafans and that’s 48k of ours turn up when it’s £30 . Without 42k ticket holders, who probably feel, obliged to turn up if they can’t sell their ticket, as they have already paid. If it was like the 80s we would be getting 20k like we did in those days.If you could leave your football club like you could leave a job or a partner, Spurs would have few fans left. Sadly, they don't do anything to keep us, because we are fans for life, but in all seriousness, this club is rotten/toxic and needs a hell of a workover to bring back any enjoyment.
