I "know" an old (83 or so) Athletic fan from just up the river, only by telephone (a weird story for another day), he knows I'm a Spurs man and he phoned my wife to wish us all the best, I got the feel from him (through my wife) that they were all pro-Spurs.

Bill, I learned a few phrases in Basque and when using them to locals their whole demeanour changed. Interestingly, loads of Bilbao supporters came out in their club shirts and wanted us to win.
I have to say we had a fantastic time there.

Just bumped into my gobby gooner ex-neighbour whilst walking the dogs.

Very subdued and a face like he’d been on a concentrated lemon juice diet since Wednesday! 😂

I was extremely mature and graceful in victory …….
