Match West Ham (A) - 4th May, 2pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We are in the semi-final of the Europa having been literally humiliated all season.

If anything that's the recipe. Why seek to change it now?!
Because we have to build a winning mentality. No professional should be conditioned to think "fuck it" and not bother, even if the season's done. We'll never get anywhere with that attitude. It doesn't matter if they're playing in a EL semi-final or football ping pong, you aim to win. Saying I'll be happy getting tonked by spam if it means we win the EL is an inane thing to say.

Have you ever played a sport of any kind to a decent standard?

Deary me.

The Prem is done, we're not going down and the players and the manager have pretty much written it off and everyone is focused on Europa, if we lose today it's just another loss but no-one cares about that apart from the fans...as long as we get through on Thursday it's all that matters.

I get your point but winning today isn't suddenly going to breed some winning mentality, the season is effectively over.

You are so very wrong. Sport is all about winning. Winning on the micro level and the macro. For any of you that don't get that, you have my sympathy.

No you're right it is but in this instance seeing as we've had our arses handed to us weekly yet somehow manage to find ourselves on the verge of a final I don't think it's as deep as you're trying to make out.

Ultimately you aim to win every match but today if he plays a weakened team against West Ham and we get beaten how does that affect the players who will be playing on Thursday?

We'll see that on Thursday when we're away from home in a cold land on an artificial pitch. If we do bleed goals, how do we respond? Not exactly had a great record of keeping our heads up under Ange, have we? Or the final, when, assuming we go through, we're up against Utd? I'd feel a lot better if I knew we were fighting on all fronts and showing the football world that we were hardening up.

This is not a short-term issue. This is something we've struggled with for a long time on and off, and it has definitely filtered down to some of the fans. Ange has normalised losing and it's being accepted. We will never break this cycle if we don't burn with that desire to win everything.

I remember that friendly against Man City back shortly after Pep first took over. A match of no importance - like today's game - but they took it very seriously. I remember watching them with fear in my heart because I could see they were not going to be messing around. They were an outfit being chiselled to accept nothing less than repeated victory. We really need to do the same. We're so limp and flakey.

The result against West Ham doesn't determine whether we go through on Thursday.

This is a bit of a pointless debate really, I mean the players are going to aim to win anyway but with a half full squad that seems unlikely unless you want Ange to play first teamers and tell them to play at full intensity, risking injuries and burn out is that what you'd prefer??
