I just can't believe he's still at the club - surely we should just have taken some cash 2 or 3 years ago?!

To be fair, it took Bale a good 3 years to come good. Gio has been here 3 and half. But he still doesn't really fit in so in the summer it is time to shift.

I wish they would have sold him to America (the Mexican club I follow) because they are shiiiiiit right now. Couldn't afford what they wanted for him though. goddamnit.

With Bale though, the majority of fans could see that he was perfectly built for PL football, worked hard, and just needed to find a position and stick to it. With Giovani, he doesn't seem well suited for PL football at all - a bit like Taarabt, you'd have to build a team around him for him to have any chance of succeeding, as he doesn't work back.

Went to a grey market football shirt shop today looking for souvenirs. They had reasonable knockoffs of this year's second and third Spurs shirts, but not in my size. But this was the most prominent shirt in the store.

I settled for a lucha libre mask that is adorned with hammers and sickles. Oh, and $35 worth of Yucateco hot sauce, but that is neither here nor there.

It is strange... you get some players like Messi that are incredibly suited to their club football and others that thrive at international level. I forget Gio is a Tottenham player when I watch him for Mexico. We'd probably get more out of him as a second striker instead of a replacement for Lennon.

I've given up hope on him he only seems to play (and train) when he is bothered too lightweight for PL and he doesn't have a position either I suppose maybe VDV role would suit him best but he clearly isn't good enough for us to cater to him for that

he's a right forward in a 433

He has played there a few times for us, and still only really performed once.

If he had any sort of work ethic (on the pitch, and off it if you believe the stotries) he'd have had more chances in the first team squad IMO.

Didn't Udinese bid £12m for him in the summer but he wouldn't go as he only wanted to go to Spain. Villarreal big £3.5m and we told them to fuck off

There's a couple of girls I'd get that shirt for on the right.

Bimbo is (or was at least) a huge shirt sponsor in Mexico. It's a baked goods company owned by the richest man in the world, Carlos Slim. The US subsidiary is the largest bakery in America. So it feels like where Corona use to sponsor every team, now Bimbo does.

But, point taken.

Pretty big in Portugal too

That said, Carlos Slim has nothing to do with the company.
