History What's your favourite Derby ever?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Amid all the talk about Tamworth and all the worry that goes with a NLD week, let's think of the good times. For me I would go the 2-1 when Bale and Lennon both scored in 2013, just felt at that time we were the really starting to get the better of them now and could feel a shift coming. Selfishly I'd put the 4-4 game up there as well because that was the game I remember hooking me as a Spurs fan as a kid.

91 cup semi winning 3-1 v gooners. Bond between fans, players and venables was magical after. Venables will always be a legend in my eyes after that. Managed for the fans. Was buzzing all the way to the final. Will be very hard to beat that unless one day we win the title at Woolwich at the emirates.

3-2 Kaboul winner at their place was the only time I have seen us beat them away in the flesh. Amazing day that after being 2 down at HT. Really felt like a shift in power too as that was still a good Woolwich team then.
Also loved the Rose debut rocket win at the Lane.
Remember absolutely shitting myself seeing RVP coming on and he had a couple of chances amazingly saved by Gomes.
Felt like a proper change that night too when we hung on for the win.

Was about to say that one. That Gascoigne free kick was like nothing else.

3-1 Highbury, Easter Monday, 1982. Micky Hazard dominating the game. So many in the NB for the start of the game it was embarrassing. Nearly got crushed leaving the CE at f/t (they kindly gave us all of it, such was the protocol back then - 11,000 I think). My mate's (who I went with) dad owned a pub in Holloway. We weren't very popular when we returned after the game...

3-2 at Chelsea, FA Cup QF, 1982 (it was a good year). Cracking day out and Hoddle's goal remains my favourite ever goal with a proper move beforehand.

As mentioned above, the wham 4-3 was also something else.

I’m sure I’ve posted before but 1991 at Wembley was possibly my favourite ever Spurs memory. Beautiful sunny day, Easter holiday, first trip to Wembley, the sights, sounds, the merry aggro afterwards… just brilliant. Felt on top of the world with the prime of England’s attack in our side. It was touch and go whether Gazza would be fit too. And the scenes afterwards, as stated above, players, management and fans together as one.

I was a bit too young to really get the Gazza semi final. The Danny Rose one, the Kaboul one, the Dele flick, the 5-1 all come to mind but weirdly it's a draw that stands out the most on a personal level. The 4-4, two points in eight games, Bentley, Lennon flying away at the end, the Spurs fan in with the players. That era starting with Jol and up till Arry got sacked, has a certain heightened nostalgia for me.

That was a great one. Every now and then I post up a YouTube video of the goals , it was taken about 4 rows directly behind me. Absolute carnage.
I’d say that’s my 3rd place.

2nd place the semi at Wembley. I was probably a bit too young to really enjoy the whole day. I think I ended up about 10 rows in front of my seat everyone was going that mental when Gazza scored. Was just chuffed to have enough membership points to get a ticket.

1st place. 5-1 demolition at WHL. Went with my best mate - had been a lot of bad days out in semi finals in the years proceeding that game! (And more to come after).
Superb atmosphere before during and after.
It just felt like we would do them. It was in the air.

One of those evenings I will always remember. We just kept scoring goals. Fantastic!!

I was lucky enough to be at this as a youngster. It was magic. I’d have to go for the 5-1 league cup semi, which I was also fortunate to be at too. They’d been so much better than us and treated us with such disdain for so long. T’was a wonderful night.

Maybe not the biggest one, but I still love the 2-1 win over the scum when Kane scored a brace on his NLD debut. This will always be one of my favorite goals.

This one finished 2-2. Don't think I've ever heard the lane as loud between that goal and their equaliser, absolutely rocking.

I really enjoyed the 2022 one for obvious reasons. Danny Rose's debut as well.

Also the carabao cup game at theirs, allis goal was sublime.

Chelsea, 2006 with the Lennon goal, 2008 final, beating them at the bridge with Alli getting 2. The 5-1 in the Worthington.

West Ham, STALTERI, diers last minute goal with 10 men, the 2 Kane injury time goals to beat them 3-2.

The period between that Kane goal and the Sanchez goal were the only 10 minutes in my life where I genuinely thought we'd win the league, absolute bliss

The 3-0 in May 2022 was special because if they won they'd essentially have qualified for the CL at our expense. Instead we pulverised them and totally swung it in our favour.

The stadium was electric and it was also my birthday so it's a birthday I'm going to remember the rest of my life.

EDIT: It was made even sweeter still because that was the derby they'd rearranged because they'd bottled it and the Premier League bent over and let them. So they came at us either full strength or as near as and still fucked it.
