When Scott Mathews-Novelli visited the Lane for the first time, he was struck by the similarities between Brooklyn and Tottenham. This is his wonderful account on the history, the culture, the economics and the pitfalls of chasing the financial dream. Daniel Levy and co, take note.

Really enjoyed this and if we got the Olympic stadium we would of been a dodgers ghost team. So glad that we staying in Tottenham. Tottenham is our home

The Dodgers are the nightmare scenario. A soulless shell of a team whose best days were left behind in Brooklyn, who seem to exist so Hollywood stars can appear "down to earth" by wearing caps while sipping lattes, and can't even win the NL despite outspending everyone else and having a wage bill higher than PSG's.

In 2014, the National Basketball Association’s Brooklyn Nets made another civil rights breakthrough for the borough by signing the first openly gay athlete in the four major U.S. professional sports. It would be amazing for Spurs to achieve something similar in the near future and continue its proud tradition of inclusiveness.

Interesting article, but it seems like it's the long term destiny of West Ham, except they were shite beforehand.

Really good grasp by the writer, of that much Hackneyed phrase 'Community.' Can you imagine moving a club across the Country, Woolwich and Wimbledon notwithstanding.
Indeed, Clough threatened this when he felt his side was unappreciated by the Nottingham public. It seems normal to build a new ground now, but remember the resistance of fans in the 90's when the like of Middlesborough and Bolton moved to new sites.
Really interesting comparisons between two clubs with such common ground, separated by a vast ocean, yet again echoing the old adage 'It's the rich what get the pleasure.....'
