Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Before it started.
Not getting in a quality centre back
Not getting Hugo Loris long term replacement
Not selling Sanchez, Dier and the rest of the crap we still have.
Smacks of taking unnecessary risks which basically bit us on the bum.

A Great Start (5 wins, 2 draws)
Going into the first international break, we were 5 wins, and 2 draws. Confidence was high after thrashing Leicester 6-2.

Pre World Cup a disaster (2 wins, 7 Losses)
Back from the international break and we lose 4 out of 5 games - against United, Brighton, Newcastle and Woolwich. A last minute goal from Benencuar saves us against Bournmouth. Loss to Liverpool and a hard fought win against Leeds round off our pre world cup disaster.

Possible Cause
Romero plays a sick note to ensure he is fit for the world cup.
Richarlison, Kulusevski and Moura injured. We have no attacking threat from the right; with Emerson shouldering the criticism.

Post World Cup Hangover (1 win in 5)
1 win in 5. We came back after the world cup in woeful form.

Possible Cause
Richarlison still injured. Kulu struggling to stay fit and looks a shadow of his former self.
Conte complains players returning from world cup still in party mode and not ready to play.
Conte unwell.
Bentencaur and Bissouma out for season.

CONCLUSION
Yet again, key injuries fucked us.

Losing our attacking threat on the right hand side (Kulu, Moura) limited our attacking options. Son and Perisic were over crowded on the left as teams were wise to focus defence against them. Without a CAM, we were unable to thread balls through the middle.

WHO's TO BLAME?
We went into the season with Kulu, Moura and Richy able to rotate on the right. Was that good enough?

Once the transfer window opened, we did strengthen with Porro and Danjuma, but the damage was already done.
We were shit at the start but picking up points.

The ridiculous World Cup has a lot to do with it.
but all the big teams in the same boat with players going to the world cup , the problem for me was conte only on an 18 month contract when he signed kane unsure if hes staying or not the dier, langlet, sanchez not good enough and wouldn't get into any top 8 team

In no particular order:

•Once it was clear conte wasn’t signing a new deal.
•The fact we couldn’t drop lloris because he had turned to shit and had no viable alternative.
•Dier still at the club.
.•conte and his refusal to change formation or blood any youngsters. Ever.

It started off wrong. We were playing like shit. People just kept saying we'd kick on and the performances would catch up with results, they didn't so we stopped getting jammy wins. End of story. Nobody actually watching us at the start could claim we were consistently playing well.

Loads of people said this and were called melts, moaners, whatever. And they were right. And now we're pretending injuries or the world cup or whatever other excuse made us shit, ffs..

We’re the 5th by revenue. We overtook Woolwich several seasons ago.

I think some of our signings would have made sense with regards to how much we spent until it became clear we werent going to spend any more money after Bissouma came in. Given at the start of the season we had PEH, Bentancur, Skipp and Sarr we didn't really need another CM, especially since there's been absolutely no sign of us playing a 3 in the middle even with all 5 of them fit. We could've had Jesus for a lot less than richy (who I will still back to come good but facts are facts) who would likely have had at bare minimum the same impact. You've saved like 50m there for a class CB.
Also buying Spence just to loan him out in Jan, then having to get Porro in Jan to rotate with Emerson. I legit think if we left rb alone and spent that money on a keeper and sorted the cbs properly we'd be so much better off, our attack still would've misfired throughout the season but leaked goals has cost us far more than lack of goals scored.

Great start papered over many cracks. Despite the good results, performances were poor and Conte never really seemed as focused as he should have been.

I think something happened during the summer, probably to do with lack of signings which effected Conte’s enthusiasm.
