Talks of a massive cull is optimistic , we have crap players whose transfer trajectory is downwards . They will be on bigger salaries than anyone else will offer . This is fine if Levy takes a massive haircut to shift them so they get sign on payments from any new club .
Woolwich do Ozil and Aubameyang hair cuts to shift them , we do Bentley and NDombele. Yes I know we cancelled the last year with fatty but he should have been gone two years previously. None of our dross will take 50% salary cut , why should they?
So we have baldy overvaluing the players and the players wanting to keep their higher salaries, at least that is what history tells us . Our squad is to crap to trade up and to overpaid to trade down . That is not saying that we are competitive on salaries because we are not , we just have lower half table players on better salaries than lower half table clubs pay.
