Stats Who will score our goals this season?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Harsh that Johnson doesn't even rate a goal involvement for the OG. It was a shot on target which deflected off two opponents and went in. Normally that's credited as a goal to the shooter, with the key element being that the shot has to be on target before the deflection(s). But in this case the keeper did just enough to be credited with a "save" stat and therefore the defender with an OG.
It's ok. He's going to score a lot more than sudoku 's sad estimate of 5.

I think not only Johnson but others will score more than my estimate, which assumes that all players will score around about what they scored last season.
Solanke will add goals to our total of 74 last season and so I hope/expect a minimum of 80 goals scored.

Agree, but the biggest downside risk may be Richarlison who looks like being out for a bit of time and may struggle to get the game time he wants when he comes back.

So my guess is that Richarlison may miss his target (which last season he achieved through a run of about 9 or 10 games when on average he scored almost every game) with the shortfall being made up mainly by Solanke over achieving and, if we are lucky, from Lankshear moving on from EL to start scoring a few PL goals too !

But the total forecast goals will be a very good achievement if we get there - I think its only 2016/17 when we finished 2nd in PL scoring 86 goals have we got above 78 goals since the late 80's and last years 74 goals was the best since then. 80 goals is a tough target, but not impossible !

Worth adding that the 80 goals is just for PL games.

When we look at EL (minimum 8 games but to win it is 15 games) plus League Cup and FA Cup, I think we'd be expecting to score a minimum of a dozen goals in the first 8 games ( and maybe 16 goals at an average of 2 goals a game). So including domestic cups its difficult to see us targeting less than 20 goals from these games and quite likely 30 goals or so.

So added onto the 80 goals in PL we need our players to break the 100 goals barrier this season !

Various posters are calling for us to sign double digit goal scorers.
They are as rare as hen's teeth.
That is why the criticism of Son on here is so dumb.
Here are our goal scorers of the last few seasons:

We have been scoring around about 70 goals per season for the last dozen years.
We are are on course for a repeat (probably better) this season. Here is my expectation (guess) of who will score our goals this season:

We need to sign that Og geezer. He was our 3rd highest scorer in 2021-22.

Many here have totally unrealistic expectations from our players. 80 EPL and 20 other goals would be a fantastic achievement.
Hopefully we can pick up a trophy, too. Or two!

Not sure tbh - but would assume +15? But just a wild guess, it may be a lot more.

When I looked at initially I thought - Diaz, Palmer, Haaland, Son, Salah and a handful of others are almost certain to get more than him.

Diaz before this season? Now sure but he’s never been like this before.

Haaland
Watkins
Isak
Salah
Son
Solanke
Saka
Diaz
Mbuemo
Palmer
Jackson
Bowen
Gordon maybe
Foden

If Brennan finishes top 10 against that field, he’s had an incredible season. He could do it but I wouldn’t bet on it….yet 😆

Spurs are currently PL top scorers with 22 goals (one more than ManCity) and 11 conceded, so GD +11, 2nd best in the PL.

And to think that some Spurs fans were asking who would score Spurs goals without Harry Kane ! :wall:
