I think gray has done the best he can under the circumstances playing cb but not deserving of the wank fest from the media and here. He was playing in the championship for a “big team” as a 17 year old - why does that matter?

Spence and Johnson both young players, why does it matter they came from championship? Johnson is a total counter attacking player with zero flair and creativity who doesn’t fit our style at all but would do a good job at ironically somewhere like forest.

The new keeper has looked good in general, he’s going to be our 2nd choice. Better than the likes of Walker, Keller and some other dross of fairly recent times.

Solanke and richarlson would be handy squad players for a combined total of £50m have vastly over spent.

Ange bought dragusin in, he’s a backs to the wall defender who can’t play in a high line and isn’t great on the ball. Makes zero sense.

Thought bissouma was going to be our new dembele, has really disappointed me. Thought he was going to be huge for us.

Porro needs to be a wing back in a 5, again not suited to this system. Maybe in a 4 for a possession heavy side.

Ange is a total fraud, our worst manager since gross. Don’t understand the media and fan wankfest over him. He’s bought in a few players he wanted on decent fees and none of them actually fully suit the way he wants to play. The only player signed during his time with us who works fully under the system is Micky who’s hamstrings get sacrificed due to the suicidal system we normally play.

I disagree mate in that until he’s part of a decent team with a decent manager we won’t see the best of him.
I would agree that we overspent on him!

He never stopped trying and running all game!

Johnson came on second half and was anonymous

Kulu had probably his worst game all season

Madders just got lost in the traffic having no outlet with the team having no shape

Everton on Sunday…..

Separate issue but from the moment Sterling dived in FK range in the first minute, it was clear Hooper was going to give them as many set pieces as he could.

That corner he was looking right at it and you could hear 2 noises so clearly on the TV so he definitely heard it.

And woolwich game plan was so clear, try to get a lead in the first half from set pieces and their press, use all their energy on that and then survive the second half with time-wasting and 10 men behind the ball. It wins but it's utter dirge. I get the PL think they need a Liverpool vs woolwich title race for ratings but the sacrifices they are prepared to make on the product to get it are risky IMO.

I doubt there is a neutral in the world who is going to spend their time watching any of the 3 teams at the top of the table right now.
 
We didn’t sit back voluntarily, we were besieged inside our own half because we couldn’t play out from the back. Porro was pushing forward so he was rarely available, and Spence + Bissouma weren’t nearly as good under pressure as they were against Liverpool. We couldn’t even play a proper long ball most of the time, it was awful to watch.

Their first goal came at such a terrible time though, just as we were starting to overcome their press and get out in transition. Picture perfect definition of a turning point. Then we gifted a goal through not one but two individual errors, and never really recovered.

Second half was just desperate end to end stuff that had very little chance of succeeding. I don’t blame Ange too much for trying to change things instead of sitting on his hands though, even if I’m not a fan of this chaotic football in general.

And Solanke just has to run around and hope the ball comes to him (and then try to hold it up or dribble past four defenders because no-one’s near him).

Maybe don't play with an old fashioned target man . It can hardly be said to be working..
Frankly it does not matter if it is Solanke's fault . If we don't play to his strengths (tap ins to be unkind ) pick someone else
We would have been much better with Maddison instead of Solanke in the first half.
It is not like the keeper plays long and you need Solanke to win a header.

Perhaps some people don't fancy losing 11 games in the league by January, looking utterly hapless and disorganised against our biggest rival, and watching most of our team too gassed or lacking in intent to turn up against said rival?

I'd wager this is a very normal reaction to what has been a very inconsistent season lacking in momentum and any meaningful signs of tactical improvements.
 
Utter shit against what is currently a pretty ordinary Woolwich team, one also missing it's best player.

I don't want to hear anyone say that Rice isn't all that again here, for all his flaws, when he's better than Bissouma and Sarr combined.

We're shit and it's not all Ange's fault. He's a million miles away from being a top manager. But this team and squad just isn't good enough. Too many of us have massively over-rated the likes of Kulusevski, Maddison and Porro etc. And Son is about as close to finished as you can get.
