Match Woolwich Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur FC @ The Dome of Silence, 8PM KO Wed 15 Jan 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

DJ played as well if not better than Udogie and has done so on either the left or right.

"At one point" means nothing, Ange had used Bentancur, Biss, Maddison, Sarr, for most of this season, so in short we were Micky and Romero short.

If you truly think that when Micky and Romero come back and then all of a sudden this shambles starts to look electric then you are very much mistaken.

By the numbers:

AngeBall

30 points from a possible 84

Most defeats in the first 21 games in our PL history

Just 3 wins in last 14

4 points from 24 against: Leicester, Brighton, Palace, Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth, Forest, Wolves.

Lowest PL position in sixteen years.

But ho-hum we have injuries.

I know Andy Peaks pretty well from his playing days at Rushden, and he told me that on Sunday he saw (and knew) there would be no "up and at em" from Spurs, no hunger or desire.

Tell me he was wrong.

I'll tell you what I already told you... Sorry; facts are facts.

.......Blurting all this out; incorrectly projecting the opinion you think I hold won't change them.

You wouldn't. Guys who act all tough behind their screens usually shit themselves when facing off. Anyway...you disagree with someone, you insult them? Way to go. Bravo. Your folks must be so proud.

I'm nearly 50, been watching Spurs for 40+ years. Also played and coached for a living, in a variety of countries. I was a FB who could cover CB. So yeah, I know a quality FB when I see one and it's clear as day Porro can't defend, which still is a FB's main duty. The way Trossard ruined him on that turn was luck, I guess. As were the 1000 other times he's been made a mug since joining Spurs. Guy can't defend, mainly cause he can't read or understand situations. And his attacking nous is way overrated. So yeah, that's a poor FB in my books and considering his price tag & rep, he's one of the worst I've seen at RB for Spurs.
I agree . Porro can't defend for shit. He's a disaster in every aspect of defending.
We have far too many players that are useless off the ball and total pansies.

So sick of losing to these cunts, who are not even that good ffs.

Too many players simply are not good enough.
Not a lot of quality on show, Biss, Sarr, Porro, Son, Solanke, Maddison, Johnson really not at it.. Some of those need to go I think. Biss and Johnson are the most obvious places to upgrade on.

It's yet another game where an individual error costs us, and of course the standard ref fuck over.

Ange needs to get a grip of them and come up with ways to minimize the errors. Everton will relish playing us, buses galore and will wait for an error or two so they can punish us. Play Spence on the right and Reggie at left back, will be better than playing Porro again, guy needs a rest.

We are certainly in the shit right now. Surely Levy can see we need reinforcements, QUALITY reinforcements 🤦🏻🤦🏻 fucking hell

I put most of the blame on the defence again to be honest. Two goals that were entirely avoidable. 50 per cent on Ange for making them play that way, 50 per cent on the likes of Kinsky and Bissouma for losing concentration at key moments.

Watching this squad play out of the back is like watching a slow motion car wreck.
Solanke is upfront but we refuse to go long out of principle. Woolwich hoof it to Havertz, even Pep doesn't mind hoofing it up to Haaland and trying to win the second ball. The chance at the end where Porro hit the post, came from Dragusin winning a long ball and knocking it down to Maddison. If we can create that chance chasing the game, why not do it when its 0-0 after 10 minutes? This team playing out form the back creates more chances for the opposition. Its a net loser.

It's like this aussie is trying to prove he is football cultured by refusing to go long.

You're spot on there. I just got through rewatching the 1st half. So many things looked disjoint. Lost count of how many times were Spencer and Gray were trapped over against the left touch line. At the start of the game Son and Kulu were up the pitch but Spurs were never able to stretch things out by getting it deep to them. After the turnovers got out of hand they came back to try to relieve pressure but weren't much help. Where Bissouma was supposed to be in the buildup was hard to tell. Son kept getting knocked off the ball. Kinsky was really shaky with the ball at his feet, three really risky plays. Early on Spurs were cycling the ball way back after getting to the final third. They couldn't clear their lines. Woolrich kept working on drawing Porro wide. The back 4 shape was three compact and Porro isolated without help. If you look at the Trossard goal, Porro is advanced but actually close to Kulu, so not sure why he needed to be that far forward. Spence and Bissouma couldn't get clear and when Bissouma was trapped Saar was too far away to help. Once the ball was turned over Dragosin had one whole side of the pitch to cover by himself and Porro looked like he was running to catch a train. I'm no football expert, but Spurs spacing when they had the ball looked disorganized the whole half. Going forward is fine, as in Porro's case, but it has to be with a purpose and there has to be more coverage behind him in the middle of the field than just Dragosin. Once Woolrich came forward and compacted the buildup it went downhill fast. I thought breaking out quickly from the back was supposed to be the trigger for the whole attack. Tonight it was awful.

I agree going long should be an option exercised more often, but………… Solanke, Kulu, and Son are way too slow. All of the attackers were run down and pinched today. We need a lot more pace in the attack.

Paragraphs. No one is going to read this mess.

There is no hiding place in the injury list. Everyone bar Liverpool has had a horrific season in that respect yet we only look at that problem in regard to the “top clubs” . Truth is Spurs have been shipping goals like no tomorrow when Romero and Van Der Ven were fit. Ange says we will play my way (Angeball) cos that’s who we are. Well tonight I saw no evidence of that while we defended on the edge of our penalty box for almost all of the first 45. Son’s goal was lucky because they had numerous shots which went clear with a block while Son’s went in. The second half was a joke. Nothing to lose so let’s throw on a few more forward thinking players, miss out our midfield and try to press their back 4. It looked slightly better but they were rampant at times. Heaven forbid they had a Haaland, Henry, Lewandowski, Osimhen type player they would have scored 8 or 9.
But we weren’t shipping goals when we had our best defenders in the game? Until they both went out we had conceded some of the least goals in the league!

Reading what their teenage fullback said after the match makes me so frustrated and angry at our players. I truly do not understand why there is zero urgency or passion when it comes to playing these fucks.

Every single season, twice a year. We never match their intensity levels.

Ange said before City last season that he did NOTunderstand why some Spurs supporters would want us to lose and not hand Red Scum the title.

So to Big Ange, Red Scum is just another team. He made that very clear … so not surprising that his teenage fullback has the same mentality about the NLD. Just another game mate. It’s who we are.
