Thought exercise: you build around 1 person, what do you do when that person is hurt...or off he's off his game...or easily shut down by anyone with decent athletic ability as we've already seen in Kulu's short time with us? Messi has never had a bad/anonymous game. In his prime it owuld have been excusable to think to do this because he could beat you anyway imaginable, with the ball, the pass, scoring, providing, etc and he could NOT be stopped by anyone. That is 1 person and no one else deserves this treatment.
Kulu is a technically competent player (1 footedness notwithstanding) but a limited player. Just because he is "our biggest game-changer" doesn't mean that he is a big game changer...least smelly turd and all of that. Please stop overrating this player.
