The COYS registration is like a Visa for Yids, I gave up before i could register...am on SC, but growing tired of being banned for swearing/'abuse'. I like to fucking swear...if you abuse people but don't swear it's sweet though, also helps if you agree with the Mods' opinions. One or two of the Mods fucking ruin it IMO.
The only problem at SC are the mods who think they are gods, never get rotated and adhere to the rules as strcitly as possible - and though the rules are actually ambigious. In other words they make shit up as soon as they don't like someone. I fell out with the mods there because, as you know, they have a current affairs forum and I would enjoy a juicy debate in there. Ultimately when the mods started to take a dislike to me for upsetting their biggest butt lickers and donators they started warning me for "not fitting into the style of SC". Is that a rule?? This shit was despite the fact that I had donated £35 to their bottomless pit fund and had been a member for about 7 years.

COYS was a fucking joke. I went there after the SC fall out. It's so sanitised that I got warned for saying "I hate Daily Mail readers" (because that was allegedly "calling out other COYS members" and then ultimately got banned for using the word "rubbish" to describe a person's opinion. Yep. I was given the ban hammer for not saying "I disagree" instead. I mean, how fucking absurd is that? The mod I was dealing with was some 18 year old student who have his lips permanently sewed to the arse of this Prof fellow who runs it. Crjist, don't ever go there. It makes SC look like a fantastic democracy.

No, thus far there is no beating The Fighting Cock. I just wanted somewhere where I didn't feel hounded or pressured to have a certain opinion. I don't care if people hate me and neg rep me to shit. As long as I can come on a place and give over my opinion on things or discuss them then that's all that matters. TFC offers what the others don't. Basic common sense.

I like TFC, but the forum I have spent the most time on (15,000 posts) is a general football forum (ff.net) which has a Spurs sub-forum, and the Spurs lads on there (about 10 regular posters) are a great bunch! The forum is a very busy one overall, and the Spurs sub-forum is one of the busiest. I just find there's a lot less bickering on there than on Spurs specific forums.

I just tried to apply for COYS but they're not taking anybody else one at the moment. WOW. How far up there own arses are they..

Oh and I was only going to sign up to wind them up

You are in all probability pre-banned now, because they're all preening toss-pieces who wouldn't know White Hart Lane from the New Den and the place is overly sanitised and a rule-infested nightmare.

Cunts.

I remember trying to sign up to FTL and that never happened either... Seemed like a lot of hoops to jump through? Is that still going?

Thfc1882 used to be excellent until it got hacked a few years back. Then most of the posters left, shame :( place is dead now

A lot of people on here seem to be familiar with COYS and SC and generally hate those forums. Are they still the biggest/most active ones? Ive never looked at them and won't bother having read posts like Salmon's. I did try to register for glory glory once but quickly decided it was shit and didn't pursue it.

COYS is easily the worst. I was on there for a year or so. Didn't really post much because there was never any real debate. Reems and reems of posts all agreeing with each other because if people say anything slightly different they're banned. The complete opposite of what a forum should be.

A mod messaged me once saying "why haven't you been on here much lately?" I replied with mind your fucking business. Bye bye COYS!

Can someone enlighten me as to how TFC and GG are different? Apart from the smilies?
I like that there're a lot less :vdvcry: :saha: :parker: :goonermong: here but is that just down to the fact that there aren't many posters yet?

don't ban me.

You have freedom of speech on here and it's not run by a dictatorship.

Like I said above though, better discussion in threads.

FTL, Jim Duggan, old skool.

Is THFC1882 still going in terms of articles? Or not posting during summer?

Both places are quite similar in terms of in jokes and let's be honest, the fact there's freedom of speech here means at some point there will be a set of guidelines which some of you will tag as a 'dictatorship'. Freedom of speech sometimes leads to people thinking they can get away with being abusive, threatening, homophobic and racist. Don't think we wont destroy anyone who starts behaving like a cunt (and yes, Flav is on that list currently).

Obviously there has to be some boundaries and I'd welcome guidelines to prevent abuse etc. However I know people who have been banned from COYS for posting things like 'Ramos out' then justifying their reasoning. They've taken guidelines a bit too far!

So how did this place start? I'm new here and stumbled across the site whilst browsing for a new podcast to listen to on iTunes.

From reading some posts it looks like TFC is quite a new site. Was there a migration of some sort?

Btw the other forums you guys are talking about sound absolutely soul destroying.

Thing I love about this forum is that I could call Case a cuntface wanker if I wanted to.. but I don't because he is a lovely man and this website is great :D

"Abusive" and "threatening" are words for the soft and sensitive IMO. We are, for the most part, blokes. I treat this place as being no different than if we were down the pub giving each other a ribbing or chewing the fat about something over a pint. If people are so wimpy that they cannot handle a few words on a message board then they have no place being here and, frankly, I pity them. You may or may not be aware of a High Court decision yesterday that recognised that many message posted on the internet are posted in jest and that it was be an infringement of free speech if every single time someone posted online it were taken literally and offense perceived.

As for things like homophobia and racism, these are pretty cut and dried. I don't think you need a huge set of detailed rules to deal with this. If someone is being maliciously homophobic or racist then I think this because clear after a while and it would be down to the moderators of a board to ban. But this doesn't mean you have to control the types of words people use (see above as to why I got banned from COYS) or have a situation where it's a crime to stray away from a thread topic (SC). Again, this doesn't apply when you have a set of ambiguous rules but the Mods won't clarify them to you when you ask (SC again) because they are basically making them up as they go.

These boards are run by arrogance. They think they are the internet's number one destinations for Spurs discussion and that fuels the way they behave. Worse still, they expect donations and have fleeced their members out of literally thousands of pounds - money which both boards refuse to account for if they receive more than they have asked for. In my world, when you are taking money off of people you owe it to them in return to at least discuss matters with them when there is an issue over their rules. COYS refuse to, instead treating you like a scolded schoolboy and hiding behind their rules. SC only respond if the mods like you and choose to honour with a response. One of their favourite phrases is "SC is not a democracy" when they get a difficult question. No, but it's a free market economy when the lining of their wallets is the issue.

This are issues well beyond a simply rule system. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that TFC has to substantiually change if it gets busier. There are plenty of boards out there with a decent amount of freedom fo speech that don't come close to these sorts of places. Plus, judging by the types of personalities we have running the board at the moment, I can't imagine that would ever become like COYS or SC. In fact, it would be a damned shame if TFC didn't keep it's head held high and basically said by it's set up and actions "fuck the other places, we won't be like that".

It was a podcast first. Then Case created the website.

For that reason alone, Case's status as a legend is assured.

When I say guidelines I don't literally mean actual rules, I just meant common sense. I think it's fairly obvious when someone crosses the line.

Have many people been banned from here? Of regular posters I only know about Paydro but are there lots of woolwich trolls who get blocked? Seemed like we had quite a few of them on here at one point.

"At this time we are not accepting new applications to join the COYS community of Spurs fans. Registration will re-open soon after the transfer window closes. Thank you for your interest in joining us. We look forward to receiving your application when registrations re-open. COYS"

Pathetic.
