This is just my opinion and people are welcome to disagree but I feel the quality of this forum has gone steadily downhill in recent times and sharply downhill lately.

The same old posters post the same comments time after time after time. The Levy thread is basically a trash bin (I’m levy out if ange fails by the way).

There has been an influx of new posters that are along those lines but even more vulgar. After BJ scored, he was called a hermaphrodite by one poster. Another 2 were laughing at posts that defended him after he was abused. All new posters. I’m sure there are many more examples.

I am completely aware this forum does not revolve around me but there is really a lack of football discussion and it’s been replaced by hatred fueled posts. I want no part of that.

There are definitely options available. Blocking these users is an option that I will try first but there are so many lately that it’s hard to follow the conversation with so many hidden posts.

Another option is another spurs forum but I haven’t done any research into that. I’ve been on here close to 8 years and have really liked it more often than not.

Is this something related to this specific forum? Have spurs fans in general just declined in quality after the success of the poch years? Is it a football problem in general or just a universal problem? I don’t know.

It’s a bit sad. I feel the other posters that want football discussion are being driven away and are replaced by the hate-filled posters.

Don’t know if anyone reads this thread as it’s the first time I noticed it but please share your thoughts. Sarcastic BS not welcome.

Edit: Disclaimer that I’m recently out of the hospital and on a massive amount of meds and according to my wife I may be feeling overly emotional :)
Great post.

Forum is losing value.

Hope you feel better soon...

Careful....I called him that once and got a spanking from CarrieFi CarrieFi
CarrieFi CarrieFi gave you a spanking? The Absolute GOAT The Absolute GOAT needs to know about this.

You did, and I’ll spank anyone else who calls him that!

Agree with a lot said here. There are a lot of angry people who just come to vent, but I find nasty abuse of our own players really off putting. Sadly I'm now seeing the match and player threads as no-go areas unless we have successes, because why would I want to constantly read stuff that puts me in a worse mood?

It's hard to control hate speech effectively, whilst maintaining the renegade spirit of the forum and I feel for admin for having to even try - especially in the age of political correctness. I'm guilty of letting stuff go cause I don't want the conflict, although I have a lot on ignore or I just don't read whole threads anymore. People like The Absolute GOAT The Absolute GOAT end up being vigilante moderators - with mixed results sometimes, but at least he has the balls to do it. (I should maybe add CarrieFi CarrieFi to that list too, I might pop into a Kulu thread later and deliver some spankings of my own…)

We're on a slippery slope because the more we ignore abuse of our own players the more of it we’ll get and the more the nuanced posters will stay away. Two obvious solutions; 1. Call people out more. Be brave, use the system and foul vote people if they’re detracting from being able to enjoy and engage with the forum. 2. Just grow up and stop posting shit.

In terms of the decline of this place into over emotional ranting, what's with the new "angry" emoji? That's not likely to help matters is it? There was nothing wrong with the old agree/disagree IMO.
