Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's been one of the most famous footballers in the world since he was like 12 years old (literally millions of Instagram followers as an actual child).

Raiola (his agent as a teenager) basically exploded his relationship with Barcelona and strong armed the move to PSG for his first pro contract, and everything has been a bit weird since then - Poch didn't want a teenager forced in him, he went to PSV on a loan and destroyed the Dutch league and then to Leipzig where his age 20 season he was maybe the best #10 in the Bundesliga. That led to an extremely short 2.5 year contract with Leipzig which was clearly designed to cash in and sell him immediately (to Chelsea most likely).

Spurs being involved with one of these superstar kids surrounded by agent drama and massive contract demands is definitely new. The good news is that no matter where's he's been at (PSV, Leipzig or the Dutch national team) he's been awesome.

So excited! This window while acknowledging the quality of Palinha and Kudus was looking very short in numbers.. this summer has seemed worse in that the fake news and BS has gotten out of control, so combined those factors really dampened my outlook.
This signing of Simons on top of Kudus and Palinha shows real intent, and they have pushed the boat out with a beefy 7 year deal to get it done.
Thomas Frank is showing what a good coach he is along with his team, man the potential here is really looking good! Everyone will reach much higher levels now with a focused coaching approach.

This!

Plus Romero, kind of. I detest the 'it's like a new signing' marker, but with Romero looking all but gone, then both extending and being given the extra responsibility of captaincy, then this is as close to a new signing that isn't one, we'll ever get.

I'll throw Romero's name in there too.....

I wouldn't have considered Simons' profile to be box office....... Much like i didn't Ndombele at the time of purchase either.
Eh, shades and degrees in terms of money, experience, position, etc. Start pushing one parameter and you can fit Maddison, push another one and you can fit Sanchez. Soldado was supposed to be something like this, so was Rebrov going all the way back.

But it certainly hasn't been ENIC's core strategy, which has always been an uncomfortable fit with the club's history and ethos.

Proper signing. Now push hard for Savinho and if you can't get him get Lookman, shut up shop and give it hell for leather with this lovely young team.

Credit where its due even if he's shafted us numerous times in the past. Levy came through on this one. COYS

The captaincy should bring the very best from Romero, he looks to be relishing it.

Excuse me if it’s already been talked about but Is he best suited on the left or centrally ?
Looks like He can play both, but given what LHS players we have, I'm thinking we've bought him to play the 10 role... Which, with the relentlessness and power of the prem and it's players , you need a certain amount of physicality for, it's not totally essential, but it helps. thats maybe something he's gonna have to adapt pretty quickly too, will he ? we'll see.

The filth up the road are triggered massively.
We have a better player who is 6 years younger, played at a much higher level already and was considerably cheaper than Eze who they let go and bought back...😂
