Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

he is a young kid still tho, hes tidy on the ball and wants to play. today was a bit of a welcome to the premier league for him, he got smothered by men a lot bigger and quicker than he is, hell have to adapt fast to that.

I've also got high hopes for this signing and want him to be a star, but I'm not gonna pretend like this was a great performance. He's got good intentions and wants to be involved, that's what I'll take away from this game today

yea agree, we looked better when he we on cos he likes to get on the ball and get his head up, hes more composed than bergvall who is heavy metal compared to simmons.

you need someone who can show composure in the middle.

He's still a young kid settling in a new league. He wants the ball, wants responsibility and has the ability to create. Something we're desperate for, especially with Madison gone. We just need a proper centre forward, intelligent enough to make decent runs. Richarlison isn't it. Not sure solanke is either tbf.

Absolutely correct ^^^

Simons threw his own legs at Coppola. Had Brighton got a penalty like that I would have walked away from football in the belief that the thing was rigged

Wouldn’t say he threw his legs, he got in front and waited

We’ve had countless penalties like that given against us and I hated all of them. Somehow by some pure fluke of God we NEVER get them given for us

Can’t remember the last 50/50 penalty we got

He definitely should play as a number 10. My question is then, who plays on the left side in the current squad? Don't think Odobert really took his chance today and his end product is questionable. Johnson has end product but absolutely nothing else. Tel? Nah. Can Muani play there? I really don't see a clear solution.

There won't be any real solution until at least January.

It’s got to be Odobert for now. He’s the most natural fit. From what I’ve seen, he looks like he has something to him compared with the others.

The minute Johnson stepped on the pitch today, we were backs to the wall. I appreciate his ability to score and get into those areas where the ball finds him but outside of the oppo box, he’s a terrible footballer.

FWIW, against clearly better opponents in PSG, the same type of thing happened when Tel entered.

Give me Odobert on the left until we can find a quality LW in Jan or next summer.

If you watch it, his right leg he moved in front but it was the left leg the Brighton player tripped him.

Anyway, we can both agree it would have been soft. Liverpool just always get the soft ones when they need them.

That pass to Richy was another assist as well, Bergvall had to see his teammate in a better position

There was one moment i cought during my stuttering, freezing stream..
He took the ball just to the left of the D and all in one motion stabbed a ball straight into (i think) Richarlisons feet.

It wasn't a long Hollywood ball or anything, but it was quick, desicive, deliberate and perfectly executed.
Unfortunately Richarlison either wasn't expecting it, or wasn't able to do anything useful with it, with his back to goal and players around him.
