Him & Spence upset me tonight...... We were on the brink of a 5 v 3 break late in the 2nd half and the pair of them just stopped dead about 30 yards from their goal and the overload was gone.
Unacceptable from 2 lads that only had to play 25mins.

Akliouche looked like the player we were hoping Xavi would be.
Main worry atm is the lack of pace and physicality. He's clearly a good technical player but seems quite slight and unable to get separation to get a shot away.
Early days and plenty of examples of young technical players that take a while to settle, but he's way off it atm.

yea today was a big slap in the face to be honest, we was apparently linked with him and he looked like the best player on the pitch. we win that game today with him playing for us.
Akliouche was on my list in the summer thread. Player we should have gone for.
I don't hate Simons, he has technical ability and some vision, similar to Akliouche, but I just think Akliouche also has the physique/athletic ability that makes him a better fit for the PL.
We do need to give the kid some time and a proper midfield/forwards behind/around him to see what he's about.

He definitely needs some maturity with the way he plays- he's not going to have the time on the ball to play like he did in the Bundesliga.
Akliouche winning headers against Palhinha? Mouth watering stuff for a winger to do that. I think he looks good out left- maybe could be an option if he is ok playing there for us?
You can see in his face he's struggling with it atm.

No coincidence it was because they were both on the side that required a left foot on that break and then when having to try and cross the ball in the last ten minutes. The squad is still a mess.
The PL has swallowed up and spat out better players. He’s looking like the Dutch Bryan Gil so far.
He is struggling in an attack missing its best players. He has to improve soon though. We are pretty fucked if he doesn’t.
Or we stick him in the same system that Xavi plays in and he looks equally shit, Xavi is still very young and getting to grips with a new team etc however this system is really not helping him, I'm not sure what the plan was for the team last night as we didn't even look sound defensively however TF needs to earn his cash and get us to start looking like a PL football team that belongs in the CL, again its early days for the manager as well however we need to see some improvements pretty soon.......

maybe Frank needs to play Johnson as a false 9, and look to play counter football hoping that xavi as 10 can find though balls for johnson
johnson has 1 skill he can be in the right place, But that 1 skill is better than richy has
