Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I thought Xavi had an excellent game, especially second half. From my vantage point, I could see some deft touches, clean tackles and forward passes that not many would attempt.
Yes, he can still improve but he's going in the right direction. He's an exciting player to watch and he galvanizes both the team and the supporters. I love his 'never say die' attitude and hope that he isn't stifled by the current coach and his tactics.
As I said before - love him, love him, love him

He’s a class player. Small player with big fucking balls. He wasn’t giving a fuck who Rodri thinks he is and never shirked a challenge all day. Gets on the ball and always looking to make things happen. We need players to make more runs forward in behind teams because he see’s the pass and can play it. Never seen a player at Tottenham before that puts himself in positions to get hurt trying to be positive. Madders is similar but Xavi must be the most fouled player in the league.

I want to see him and maddison together in the midfield with a proper holding 6
Stop talking dirty to me doom funk!

Oh yeah, he's starting to get to grips with the physicallity and pace of the league now.

Many of us said it would most likely take him time, but yet some declare him a flop.

Calling it now, we're going to have one of the beat players in the League next season.

A big pre season is going to be huge for him.

He's actually a Pep player all over. They'll be sniffing in time.

Kid deserves a proper goalie, CB x 1 (or 2), FB x 2, DLP, WF x 2, CF...and captain...and manager...and DoF, CEO, owners.

And, perhaps, a better quality of support from some of his so-called "fans" perhaps...?

He hides most of the time. And whenever he does get the ball, he produces fuck all. Used to at least stay on his feet and put a few tackles in, but now he doesn't even go into 50-50 and spends the game eating grass.

Still early days, but looking like yet another expensive dud a la Ndombele. That's what happens when you sign your 6th or 7th option, when another 20-30 mil and a bit of urgency & decisiveness woulda got you a proper elite player.

But ENIC gotta ENIC.

Definitely his best performance in the league, the guy was brilliant today, would like to see him getting his shots off earlier and with more conviction but I'm sure that'll come with time! We need to surround him with a couple more technical players that can actually pass

Top top player

Look forward to seeing him perform in hopefully a better spurs team next season with a more attacking minded coach

He finally started getting past players and getting to the ball whilst dribbling, something he'd just been lacking by 5%.

2nd half he seemed to turn a corner in a Spurs shirt. Before he looked like a boy playing against men, today it just seemed like he evolved. Let's hope it was for that reason and not because City had an off day but today he looked the part in a massive way.

I definitely think he's one of those that if you get better players around that he trusts and will link with you'll see an even better player. But his workrate was phenomenal today. His desire to drag us back into it was infectious and lifted the team and the stadium.

Could Gallagher perhaps be someone that inspires others around him to raise their efforts.

Gallagher, Palinha etc are the exact kind of wise heads we need around younger talent. It'll be interesting to see how the team chemistry develops now.

He is a generational talent.

The boy is unplayable, so just get behind him, because we are seeing the blooming of a huge talent.

In any top team the media would be salivating over him.

He is ours, so the media can fuck off out of it.
He’s been pretty good lately but he’s 23 before the end of the season. He’s no kid.

Needs to show he can maintain and improve his form. He definitely ups his game around quality players. He’ll never be top level if his forward is richarlison.
