Think that's the quietest I have ever been at a game, just felt no enthusiasm for it at all. And that was the feeling of most of our supporters, if the atmosphere was anything to go by.
Their pink shirts, the length of time it took for the offside decision to be made, the no-show in the second half, the inevitable goal back so we couldn't take the win for granted, just about summed up the afternoon.
Nearly popped round to see you before the game, but I'm getting old and it meant fighting through crowds of unwashed demonstrators.

That semi automated VAR starts next week so hopefully more clean cut decisions.
Please know that I'm not trying to disagree with you for the sake of it. Here goes...

I have no faith in this new system. Hopefully it won't be so painfully slow, but I have a feeling it will be shown to be 'Emperors New Clothes'.
Hawkeye in tennis gets away with the bogus graphics, because everyone just accepts the computer-generated images as correct (they could be wildly inaccurate for all we know).
The same acceptance of computer graphics won't happen in football. Comparisons will be made between the graphics we're presented with and still frames of the real game. I bet you any money you like some stills will show that the semi-automated tech has made mistakes, one way or another - or both probably.
I have no faith in it at all.

Give me the linesman's decision, for better or for worse. We know he's a blind git and we move on. That's how the game is meant to be.

And on top of that it's called "FOOTBALL" , when did hands start being offside .
The people that run football have absolutely no clues about football and what the supporters want to see .
If you can't decern if it's offside after 2/3 viewings then its move on and play on .

I

I don't think so..he had a valid reason...Tel didn't...
It's a meaningless hattrick, I just don't agree personally, Tel's first prem goal is arguably a bigger deal than that.

I'll give Johnson credit, his 2 finishes were really Good, but that doesn't entitle him to take the pen over the designated taker.

If Solanke or Son had been on and took it would people still be griping?

Premier league need to follow uefa template on officiating. Clean cut and refs arent afraid to make big decisions quick. Tbh I still think liverpool get ropey decisions domestically. UEFA for psg game we excellent I thought. We all want a fair game.

Mind numbingly boring second half, should be stuffing the likes of that lot by 4 or 5. Thought he would give Richy a few minutes today to get something I to his legs and think Madison and Bergvail should have been off earlier, not worth even thinking of being without either on Thursday night.

My dad went along today with his old mate. He hasn't been for ages and said it was like being at a wake. He's like me in so far as he's not really felt at home at the new stadium and said that it might be the last time he makes the trip. I commended him for making the effort because I switched the game on for 10 mins and it looked so piss boring I went off for a bike ride instead.

Mate Hank Tough it's almost over we'll get through this period and have something to look forward to again. The relationship between the coach and fan base have totally fractured.

I would stick with VAR for the reason it was introduced to correct the ‘clear and obvious mistakes ‘ so if you have to draw a line to work out if someone is offside then give the benefit to the striker ‘ , goal line technology is here to stay and an added benefit , but what is ruining football is the fact VAR is looking to disallow goals and we are seeing more and more fans holding back when a goal is scored cos u know VaR are going to pick the bones out of it .

Wait they were wearing pink? I'm not joking I'm colourblind Portsmouth are in pink? I thought it was baby blue :s

This.

I'm all for designated penalty takers and all that. But Brennan was on a hattrick and is a full time Spurs player.

Tel is a loanee. In this case given the circumstances Brennan's seniority should have taken precedent.
At the end of the day , all the possible scenarios should have been sorted out before the match. Like this example , if Johnson and Tel are on the pitch at the same time, who is the penalty taker if Son is off the pitch.
I realise this was a little more complicated with Johnson on a hat trick.
