Player Yves Bissouma

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's a really obvious flaw with VAR whereby it's an easy option for refs to just ignore any contentious incident/difficult decision, as it will be looked at by VAR and so the guys in the room will get all the flack, but the nature of VAR only intervening where something is "clear and obvious" means that it's totally impotent for the cases it should be most useful for.

They aren't looking for a foul for the most part, they're looking to see if a refereeing mistake is excusable.

The situation is ref can ignore stuff because of VAR, and VAR is looking to agree with the on field decision to protect their mates, and because clear and obvious gives them an easy escape.

It's pathetic. It's all absolute BS as well, as there is as much contention over decisions/refereeing now as there ever was pre-VAR, only there isn't the old excuse of ref only having one chance to see something live and in real time, so it's even worse.
It's shocking how a good tool has been so badly misused

I hope he is fit to start. Will make a huge difference at the base of that midfield. Get the Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison trio back out there to start the game and give us the best possible chance of a win.

No way he should start even if fit. We need him back desperately, but we need a fully fit, top shape Bissouma, not one suffering physical fatigue from malaria and thigh injury, and mental fatigue from being in a major tournament and travel etc.

Same goes for Son, Sarr and any player in the same circumstances.

Haven't seen it enough for Spurs. Nowhere near enough. But hopefully he goes on a long run of peak form when fit again. He has the technical abilities & physical attributes. Tactically he seems to get the PL game a lot more than Conte thought. It's just whether he's got the character.

Come on, Biss! Bloody need ya.

Just needs that freedom from suspensions to last or the ability to have more robust confidence.

Once he had that Luton red hanging over his head, he went into his shell. Like he was too ashamed to play with his usual confidence. Could use a bit of fuckoffness about him. DM's like Keane, Vieira, even Rodri now, they had the shortest memories going.
