Love him or hate him, Jose Mourinho knows how to win trophies. His career has told us many things. Firstly, he will spend about three years in North London. Secondly, there will be a huge bust up along the line somewhere. And thirdly, there will be a period of success, which usually aligns with around where he is in his spell at Spurs.

So could this season really be a special one for Spurs?

Jose certainly seems to have his groove, from the cheeky Instagram posts, to the sly digs at Real Madrid upon Gareth Bale’s first goal for the club. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are in imperious form and there’s generally a feel-good factor about the direction in which the club are heading.

While the club didn’t finish top four last term, they have been in top four form since he took over, but is silverware on the horizon?

Premier League

Spurs are certainly the dark horses in the Premier League this season. While Manchester City and Liverpool are the two favourites, with many bookies expecting a two horse race, Mourinho’s men can’t be ruled out.

Tottenham are being priced at 7/1 currently for the title and they’ll certainly be worth a free bet with City and Liverpool certainly having a few issues within their squads. Free bets without deposit are usually very limited, but there are a few available at the moment, and it’s well worth lumping on Spurs.

Mourinho has experience of winning the title, they have one of the most frightening attacking line-ups in the division, and they are much more settled defensively than the likes of Liverpool and City.

The demolition job of Manchester United has shown what they can do and they’re currently the league’s leading scorers. We would not rule them out one bit.

EFL Cup

The club beat Chelsea on penalties in the last round of the EFL Cup and they have what should be a safe passage through to the Semi Finals as they take on Stoke in the next round.

It’s a competition Jose Mourinho has won four times and they are now second favourites to win it with the bookies at 7/2. Current champions Manchester City are leading the way with the bookies, but they face Arsenal in the next round in what will be a difficult tie.

If there’s one trophy Spurs will win this season, it is this one.

Europa League

Spurs are actually favourites for the Europa League currently though with them priced level with Arsenal at 6/1.

Again, it’s a trophy Mourinho has experience of winning, lifting the trophy with Porto back in 2003, and then again with Manchester United as they beat Ajax in 2017.

The club have slipped up in the competition this season, but should have few problems reaching the knockout stages where they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Of course, it’ll be interesting to see which sides drop into the competition from the Champions League, but with the squad Spurs do have, they can be a match for anyone in Europe.

FA Cup

Spurs have yet to be drawn into the FA Cup, with the First Round having only just getting underway.

At present, the bookies have got Spurs quite far behind in the pack, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all ahead of them in the pecking order. It’s a cup competition though and anything can happen.

That said, the Europa League and EFL Cup look like the tournaments the club are most likely to win, ending a drought that dates back 12 years.
