And yet, despite being too early to judge, the glass half full that is you, have managed to judge them as being "a bit more than good enough"

Indeed, but they have to have a chance at being/ending up top notch to begin with.....was the point. Which makes Shane fucking Long plain ridiculous.
no, I was saying what they are at the moment & what they are most likely to be.
I am not actually saying 100% they will be a bit more than good enough.
you have to say what's most likely. & its not very likely both will end up being top notch.

how boring would it be if we all said lets wait & see for every player & every season.
they need at least a few years.

I agree they do. but from what I have seen of them I am given my opinion.
its not a final judgement call.

you really make things out to be a lot simpler than they are.
we could all do that to everyone's posts.

I would always give players at least 2 seasons before I judge them properly.

but at the same time I can give my opinion on how well I think they will do.
it doesn't mean I think its fair to judge them now & that they shouldn't be given more time.

id give njie 2 more full seasons before we decide what we will do with him.
but at the same time I don't think he will ever be top notch.

also managers do have to make judgement calls before given players enough time.
are u going to rant if poch does that? I don't think so!

If we sign Shane Long after qualifying for the Champions League, I would be devastated.

Has Luis Fabiano retired?

Don't know, but I do know that this handsome fella is still active

And has a better goal to matches ratio than Shane Long :vert:

Edit: That's Rasiak......and yeah, yeah different level of leagues to the PL, I know

takes the piss out of long but then says he sees a lot of potential in yedlin.
case closed.

No, what you were saying was that they weren't (much more than) good enough signings based on very little. And then changing it to the jury's still out.

Big Sam is a lot of, mostly negative, things. He's not, however, inept at making teams defend well. If you think, he's playing a defender, that cannot compete at the level, consistently in a dog fight to avoid relegation, to the point of making it a reason to close a case on Long, or my ability to understand football, then you either don't watch much football beyond Spurs, or don't understand what you're seeing.

For me he is almost a complete unknown so I can't judge him. My only real memory of him was the assist against City at home. He has a clean slate for me going in to next season.
you politician you. I didn't ask you to judge him.
say we had got CL last year, would you have wanted to sign him?
I am pretty sure u would say no. but because he is our player now, you won't admit it ha.
especially if we are saying we are only signing top players because we have CL football.

that's not what I said.

But yes kafka . you know all about football. top manager & coach & pundit. we all get it.
no point us arguing. you know everything.
bye mr football.

son has shown glimpses of what he is capable of. you can see the potential their.
I know he was highly thought of in Germany. but then again so was kagawa.
I wouldn't never properly judge a player until at least their 2nd season.
especially players coming in to the premiership.

njie hardly played as you mentioned. really, next season will be his first proper season.

way too early to judge. but chances are that both wont go on to be top notch.
maybe they will. we shall see.

if poch is only signing players he thinks will be top notch, then he will be disappointed regularly.

Please don't use any player who has "failed" at united's time in the PL cloud your judgement. Kagawa was a good player when he came and a good player when he left, same as Di Maria. Utd are a shambles and any player will struggle to show good form there until they sort that out.

true. but some players are more suited to other leagues or teams.
I think son will improve next season, but I don't think he will ever be top notch.
just an opinion!

Shhhhh, don't point out any flaws in his "logic" or you're a mr football

where did I say njie wasn't good enough?!!

or that they had to be rated by other clubs to be considered good enough.

not surprised you are getting backed up by the other arrogant 1 ha.

Why is it that a player can only be deemed good enough if other teams had tried to sign them as well?

It is the stupidest logic I've ever heard.

Two words...Riyad Mahrez.

I never said that. & I actually said njie was good enough.

but make up what u like.

dier is another one u could have said.

I am all for good scouting and getting less sought after players.
