Match day routine?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

With the new season fast approaching normal days will be replaced with a schedual/routine! Due to the mighty Tottenham doing their thing. Is it planned with military precision or is it a random hope for the best which usually works out? How long is your day or are you home in time for the lottery programme? Providing its on a Saturday!

I rarely get to matches & Mrs Prawn doesn't hold with football, so I generally start conniving early in the week, thinking up devious schemes to ensure that I either 'randomly and by bizarre co-incidence' find myself near a TV at kick off time, or that she is otherwise occupied (or if all else fails, rohypnolled) by the time kickoff comes.

It's a constant cycle of treachery & deceit during the season. But I do get to watch at least 1/2 of them.

Impossible to have a routine, as kick off dates and times fluctuate so much and with Friday nights in the mix now, it's going to be even worse this season. I never use my Spurs mug or egg cup on match days. I always wear my Spurs plastic bracelet and never wear red (naturally). I walk pass the dress shop on the High Road to gasp at the wedding and evening dresses in the window - they are candidates for big, fat gypsy weddings. Then if time allows, squeeze in a quick cola or orange juice at the Coach & Horses. Once in the ground, I always use the same toilet cubicle. Then a bag of chips on the way home.

Seeing as most games are in the middle of the night over here it generally consists of a normal day and then depending on kick off time the clearing of my schedule during the late night. Sometimes i go to sleep first and others i just stay up and watch the games before spurs play.

Most of the time i just watch the game in bed because i can't be fucked to get up and go downstairs.

Military operation.

It can take between 2-3 hours (3.5 at worst) to get to WHL depending on KO time, the day of the week and public transport.

I usually catch a train 4.5-5 hours before KO. Get to WHL station 2-3 hours early go for Chick-King and then find a boozer. This can be random. Generally the Beehive then on to the Brickies/Bell depending on what mates are going or who I bump into.

Post match I always go home via Northumberland Park.

So a 4pm Sat KO would be leaving the house at 10.30am and get home at 19.30pm. Night games I get home at 00.30 or 01.30am if there is a replacement bus service. I get up for work at 05.00am.

I do that on average 20 times a season.

I usually get a munch in one of these fine establishments: Colombian gaff in seven sisters, Jerk place opposition the stadium or chick king if I am feeling dirty. I will then go for a drink in one/all of the following places: Antwerp arms, Brick Layers, Irish community centre or the Beehive if I am feeling up market. In normal games I like to go in a bit early and soak up the atmosphere in the shelf. In derbys I like to watch all the madness on the corner of parklane but I do not get involved these days. Will also usually place a bet on someone to score two or more in derbys, at the moment its Harry Kane who is doing the business. Get involved lads!

I think we are very lucky that we are staying in Tottenham as we can still keep our routines and support local business. Just look at the Spammers they will have to go to fucking west field for a drink!

Takes about two hours by train to get to WHL, so if we're talking a 3pm KO it's the train at 10:30, then linger around the Bricklayers for a couple of hours, usually pop into a bookies on the way to the stadium and get to my seat for 2:55.

Then straight to the station for the way home, but get out at Kings Cross for a couple of beers before heading back.

Can't wait.
