Match day routine?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

jump on the Victoria line, usually hungover. meet my old man outside seven sisters. Let him have a moan about his commute up from sussex (usually about 'daft birds with suitcases' - sorry ladies )

walk down the high road and go to the Beehive. Go TCC if its too busy (regular occurrence these days with all the away fans that seem to turn up). Moan about the shit beer in TCC.

Walk down the road, usually time for a Carlsberg before the game. Head downstairs in the 42nd minute for a beer unless its a tense game.

Back down the high road and a couple of pints in the Volunteer by Tottenham Hale and/or Victoria spoons before seeing the old man off. although usually avoid spoons if Chelsea at home same time as us.

As others said, glad we're staying in Tottenham to keep the traditions up. I worry about how rammed the pubs will get with 25k extra though. Hopefully a few more open up.

Went to TCC last year when I was over.

Antwerp Arms for a proper beer.
Tottenham Star for a large lamb shish.
Weak lager in the ground with a sausage roll and then tea for the duration of the match.
Long fucking piss at HT and FT.
Cool story Bro etc.

For about 80% of games, my pregame routine is to wake up and turn on the game. Maybe fit in a trip to the bathroom or kitchen if I have time.

i use google i have to copy them to my calendar to add invitess. Not sure I doing it the best way. Date changes can be missed
If you both have a google calendar, then just "share" them between you. You can both see each other's. Any changes you make them get reflected in hers. This way you don't even need to tell her, the line is "it's in the calendar, love".
:allitongue:

Caveat : this works both ways.

You've clearly never sampled the delights that Pavro Ocakbasi has to offer...
I'm a proud, committed convert!

Agree with the first bit, mind!

I have tried Pavro but I do like the Star. I may change my routine though after the last few home games last season!

I think the last few games of the season have proved that pre-match routines (be they out of superstition or just habit formed) don't REALLY help the team in terms of luck and positive outcome of matches!

We'd be better off trying somewhere different every time!

mid week, central london, usually the pub behind oxford circus, vic line up to seven sisters then a right old trot down to the beehive ( bring back the bull or the old swan) by which time im gagging for a piss, on to the elbow rooms the 2 brews then a dodgy burger opposite the blue bar ( whats that like ? )and end up in the bell n hare garden....... stagger into the ground scream at the away fans and then fall asleep

Slightly off topic, last year the night we played the goons in the cup was my last night in London for a wee break had taken in the Palace game but booked everything before cup was drawn so had to find a TV screen! Staying next to Victoria station found out a place called American bar and grill? They Were showing it,place packed but with goons! Take it this is a random venue. Not so much a one team pub,in case their is a next time!

yeah just random, end up in there sometimes but hate it. Rip off. Probably just outnumbered by plastic gooners.

On a separate note, was in stonehaven a few months back and saw a spurs/Aberdeen sticker in one of the pub toilets. made my day

Did,nt think there was that many goons down that way, the pub opposite the Shakespeare is a chelsea pub and we had a few turn outs down there back in the day

Iv thought about doing this you know. Maybe Ill give it a go so she has plenty of warning.
the trick is not to make any arrangements for the whole weekend when you know you want to attend a game! A bit of a pig if you go to all of them, I know!!!! I have held back on organising a couple of breaks in Sep and Oct due to CL as if we get Barca in the group, I definitely want to go to the Nou Camp. It is hard for the other half when your life revolves around fixtures that change willy-nilly, especially when you are trying to organise a big event in the future, so try and be a little bit more understanding.

Fry up, beer, match, more beer, home for row with Mrs.. Its like clockwork..

Haha, like I said - it's like clockwork... Fry up - few beers - match - more beer - then I get home and the first thing she said is " that Wagamama scored, followed by you stink of beer" so I asked her " what do you expect me to smell of - Lavender ?" now she's sulking... I fucking love saturdays..
