OK - from that perspective I see where you're coming from. But as a keeper you know that in that position the odds are so far stacked against you that its a hundred to one against that you are going to stop the goal
The shot-stopping side of it, no. Vorm is one of the best shot-stoppers around.

But if he was always going to retreat from his starting position (he's not a rush out keeper) he should never be out there. It is far easier for a keeper moving forward to set up, than a keeper moving back.

But yea, Sturridge would probably have scored either way, although the finish wasn't exactly clinical from him.
