Wow, a languid, ageing, 33 yr old (soon to be 34). That's some statement. Assuming the statement is: "fuck it, we give up".

Here we go, must be season ticket renewal time. Going for another player who's best days are behind him.

And there's the difference, what would our reaction be to trying to sign a 34 year old who struggles to get round the pitch?

And why announce your targets? So tinpot and small time but they do provide good comedy

If you wanna know why people despise you so much then why don't you listen as to why people despise you so much. They are telling you why. Its because you are deluded, smug and arrogant. With some kind of sense of entitlement . It has nothing to do with your status as a "big club" or jealousy.

As an example you view yourselves as a European heavyweight hahahahahahaha. You've been yo yo'ing out of the top four the last few seasons and it wasn't that long ago we finished above you and were competing for the same league positions around about the top ten. Hardly a European giant. You think you're big but are tinpot you think you're up there with Barca and Bayern but aren't even close. Your deluded. You're smug and arrogant despite having nothing to be smug and arrogant over. One mickey mouse trophy in 20 years and a top four yoyo club. Does not make you european heavyweights. Then you got some clown claiming that Tottenham fans are the most intelligent despite the fact you beat up your own fans, burn down local businesses and delude yourself of your "heavyweight" status.

This is why you are despised not because of "how good you are" but because of how good you think you are.

That's why we enjoyed dishing out your yearly punishment on Friday! You're an embarrassment to football!

Hahaha an embarrassment to football? West ham who play in a non-football stadium, are owned by people who made their money from Kiddie Porn, who haven't won a trophy for 37 years, who think winning a league game is the pinnacle of their history, haha do i need to go on?

They need a derby of their own to worry about. They can have one of ours if they like, it seems like we play about 8 games a year where the rivalry is through the roof.

Its not really irrelevent though is it?

It's clear that West Ham raised their game against us on Friday, as they did at nearly exactly this time last season. Whilst ultimately its embarrassingly small time that they will only turn up if it means they can take something from us, it still means we have to raise our own game to counteract it.

The more teams that take offense with us the more difficult it will be to win things, simple as.

Look at "plucky" Leicester last season. Teams rolling over all over the shop, caught up in the narrative.

Whilst trying to prevent the evil Tottenham Hotspur from preventing the fairytale ending.

Might be over egging it a bit, and i know its down to us to do what we need to do to win these games regardless of the opponents intentions but it is a factor that needs considering.

Maybe it's best we focus on what we can do something about. Yes it's irrelevant if they raise their game. We can't do anything about that except try and win. I'm sure palace wanted to stop us even more as they need to guarantee survival and haven't yet.

Unfortunately the real West Ham have been missing since about 1895, the joy of supporting West Ham is not knowing what side will turn up.

However if you are seriously claiming that Argentinian Manuel Lanzini and Croatian Slaven Bilic masterminded your demise, simply because they hate Spurs, I feel you are rather wide of the mark.

Unfortunately like your European games at Wembley, a bigger pitch proved to be your undoing, which was very odd to see, as the soulless bowl has been our undoing on many occasions this season (Southampton early on if you want to watch a team make full use of a big pitch).

Winston Reid was designated to man mark Kane, and with Kane having to go deeper and deeper, he ended up as a holding midfielder, which allowed our full backs to push up, which in turn stopped any advance of Davies or Walker (god he was poor).

We had a striker up front who has scored one goal this season, and that took a deflection as big as Kane's chin. We just worked a lot harder than Spurs, I have had a read through of this thread, and despite having to stop myself short of pissing myself with laughter, as the first half went on, lot's of you said we would run out of steam, and we usually do. However Spurs just looked that bit more done in, maybe the big pitch just caught up with them again, but they really looked clueless.

I watched the highlights back, and one of the commentators made a comment about Alli "he often adorns games, but struggles to dictate them" and I thought that was bang on, he just doesn't have that ability to change a game, like your Lampard/Gerrard/Scholes etc. It is the same with England, when it matters, he just can't make that final step up, maybe it will come with age, but the three mentioned previous were already doing it by 21. Usually something engrained in a player, and it looks to be just too much for Alli to contend with. When the going get's tough, he just becomes a snide little bugger. Sort of player you mark out early to wind up.

Like many of you, I don't believe you bottled the League, you were never going to win it. Seeing ourselves play against Chelsea three times and yourselves twice, the difference in quality between both sides is quite some distance. Will be interesting to see how Conte deals with Chelsea in Europe next term, and also to see how you get on at Wembley every other week.

Lastly, I would swap Levy for our board every day of the week, he has done wonders for you. Can't believe some on here actually have a go at him.
So you come on here to hand out a few back handed compliments and then a few digs, fair enough.
The Dele comments are shite, Lampard/ Gerrard and Scholes were not bossing and controling games at just turned 21, go back and look at some stats, Dele's are better than the lot of them.
The quality gap with Chelsea is also shite, we played them 3 times this season, they won twice, us once. We are closing that gap, we know their ahead of us, as they should be with the money they throw around but we are definately getting closer.
Why the hatred about thinking we're a big club, we always have been, before the Premier league format, russian roubles and petro/dollars changed the landscape, we was regarded as one of the big 5 with Liv/ Arse/ Man U/ Everton.
If you have a good look around this forum mate, then you will find there's no better person to take the piss out of Spurs than a Spurs supporter, fuck the arrogant shit you lot throw at us.
You had a very good night and we had an off one, it happens, how fucking small time is it, that it defines your season.
We have one of the best,if not the best training facilities in Europe, after next season a purpose built 61500 seat football stadium built on our spiritual home, we will still be Tottenham from the Lane.
We've been through some fallow times and none of us will deny that but we are striving for better things with a fine young team, home grown talent and a great academy set up.
We are proud and comfortable with who we are mate. Can you say the same.

Masterminded? Lol what a load of bollocks. Scruffy scrappy lucky goal u mean.

We had an off night and your lot played like it was a cup final as you always do. Maybe if they turned up like that every week you wouldn't have been battling relegation.

And as for the gap in quality to Chelsea comment, IF you genuinely believe that then ur observation is purely based on the fact your lot probably didn't turn up against them.

The only difference between us and Chelsea this season is we've played 10-15 more games than them and had key injuries throughout the season. We've scored more goals conceded less and lost less games. A few draws is the only reason we're trailing them.

But u know all that really, you're just a sad obsessed twat creating an account on another clubs fan site because ur whole season revolves around 2 games against us per year.

I would like to know where all these Smug Tottenham fans are? Nearly every spurs fan I know is always expecting the wheels to come off at any time, the gallows humour is popular around WHL.

Not that I care one iota what other supporters think of us but maybe 3 trophies won in 26 years and yet we still fill our ground, fill our away allocation and continue to grow as a club off the field is making some envious or jealous? Maybe it's the old Jew stereotype, I don't know, scratch away and it soon comes to the surface with certain clubs fans.

I enjoy a laugh at other clubs, it's all part of the banter and bloody hell, we have had to endure more than enough in recent years! I have mates who all follow other London clubs and it's always great piss take material, I don't hate spam or Chelsea, I dislike the latter and sections of their support for the myths about what they were before oil money, spam are just an irrelevance, the clubs are not on the same level, never have been or never will be, that's why it means so much to them, I saw it as annoying that we dropped 3 points against one of the poorer premier league clubs. The only hate is that shower of shit from south east London who are parked down the road
Trying to understand where it comes from...

When I started going in the 90s, we were proper shit but some older fans had high expectations and still expected us to be brilliant, winning cups etc which baffled me. I think you often see that when a side goes on the decline, look at Liverpool, Woolwich now. People struggle to accept they're not as good as they once were, and have expectations that are too high.

But nowadays most people are like you say. Gallows humour, expecting the worst, etc. I think the "arrogance" thing is not the real reason, though maybe they think it's the reason or they attribute arrogance to us (incorrectly).

I think the jew thing is definitely part of it. From West Ham, Chelsea, Man City in particular.

I think we generally have a fairly old school, mouthy fan base, who will stick up for themselves, not a quiet, do-as-you're told one like Woolwich, we also have traditionally been associated with an active firm, both of these things inspire jealousy in some people and also rub some people up the wrong way. But on the other hand, we're by no means the only club with those features.

Whatever the reason I love it and wouldn't change it one bit! It does cost us points though!

Got more bites than expected, did relatively well. You are miles behind Chelsea, sorry chaps.
To be fair I can see why you think that cause we played shit in our two games against you. Two of our worst performances of the season. The best team we came across was Liverpool rather than Chelsea IMO but the scousers were shit in other games against other teams. In our games against Chelsea things were pretty even, we hammered them at the Lane, we had the first half in the away game, and the cup game we deserved at least a draw.

As for our perceived arrogance, which is the apparent reason you hate us so much, can you give any actual examples of this? As many have said here, most Spurs seem to have less than realistic expectations of how well we will do, rather than the opposite.

The arrogant thing is baffling. Up until we mathematically sealed top 4 I was shitting it that we could still be caught when even Sky Sports weren't including us in the race for top 4 conversations.

I can't imagine anyone that's supported Spurs longer than the last few seasons being arrogant. There's been way too many upsets!

Perhaps Spam fans think we are arrogant for not seeing them as a rival. In which case I think one glance at the table would clarify that as a simple fact rather than an arrogant denial.

Off the pitch I agree. We are miles behind not only Chelsea, but both Manchester clubs, Woolwich and probably Liverpool. We do not have the financial ability to compete on wage structures versus annual income. At the moment, but this is changing. It's why players like Hazard and William opted for south west London, they can earn twice as much. At the moment.

On the pitch is different, I thought top 4 would be a struggle this season, two apparently world class managers and shed loads of money spent in Manchester, Chelsea and Liverpool with no European football to distract them and that other lot down the road will probably be sniffing about! But we are 2nd and we are there on merit, I can count on one hand the below level performances this season including last Friday night, we won't win the league but I am so proud of this current team and wish the media would cut us a little more slack for having the audacity to gate crash the financially doped!

On the pitch against Chelsea this season there has not been much in it. We beat them comfortabley at home and looked good for at least a point at their place. The cup semi we again played well, but for all our possession we fell asleep at one set piece and allowed their best player to score. These things happen but like last season our young squad will hopefully learn from that.

Seriously I was beginning to feel sorry for West Ham as the soul of their club has been ripped out and they're managed by complete clowns.

The loss and subsequent "banter" has made me remember what pathetic little mugs they are and now I can't wait for their next catastrophe.

I'll be on the SouthStand Billy SouthStand Billy party bus when it happens

Agree with you. I was the same.

The game I will always remember is when we were 4-0 up against the scum in the league cup semi, with about 10 minutes to go, they got a consolation goal and there was a collective sound of the entire Paxton Road end shitting itself. We generally expect the worst.

In fact, I remember quite a few West Ham fans thinking they would overtake us when they got their new stadium, with the money they would save being invested in the club etc. That is more arrogant than anything I've heard from Spurs fans, as this season has shown. Let's leave this Stammer on here I'm genuinely interested in their response.

Arrogance is a word they use that actually masks the real emotion they feel, ENVY.

They envy our club's history, our trophies, our owners, our manager, our philosophy to football (even copied the phrase The Tottenham Way), our style of football (they also copied the notion that they play entertaining football, err when?), our trophies, where we are in the League.

We have broken them. Such was their desire and desperation to be just like Tottenham they all sold their souls to be given the chance. They are all guilty of this, both the owners and fans, whipped into a frenzy of a promised land, a chance to be just like Tottenham Hotspur, a chance to no longer be relegated every few years, a chance to win a trophy like Tottenham, a chance to play in Europa League like Tottenham, a chance to have a positive goal difference like Tottenham, a chance to have great players like Tottenham, a chance to watch entertaining football like Tottenham. A. Chance. To. Be. Just. Like. Tottenham.

Their desire to be like us, has left them with a season of abject shit, another relegation fear, but this time their comfort blanket has been removed, to get relegated in this stadium and they are dead. This is their reality, they all know this, it now hangs over them like the sword of Damocles, a constant threat like a floating turd in a swimming pool, it's forever lurking in view no matter how hard they try to swim away from it.

Give them their victory on Friday, their highlight of their entire season, I'll say that again for dramatic effect...their highlight of their entire season, (they are still coming on here nearly a week latter lol). Pat them on the head and politely push them out the door back onto the street. From there they have a grandstand view of what we are doing. Have the comfort that they watch every game we play. They watched us fill Wembley with 85k fans, whilst they have thousands of empty seats at their bowl of doom. They watch 5 of our squad play for England, while none of theirs do. They watch our home grown talent flourish on our conveyor belt from our academy, whilst they have Noble (lol). They are watching every goal we score, with every victory we have it feels like yet another loss to them. Just when they thought their gamble to turn them into a club just like Tottenham Hotspur was in touching distance, we got better, we challenge for title's, we play in CL, we have a deep cup run, we play aggressive and attractive football, we are talk of the town. The final nail in the coffin is our new stadium, it's ours, it's in our spiritual home, it's a state of the art designed for football stadium, something they will never have. I doubt they will last the 100yr lease on their rental. We've broken their club, we've destroyed their soul. All because they wanted to be Just. Like. Tottenham.
