Everton knows no one will play even close to that figure. The only players someone would pay 50M in the last year of contract are guys like Messi and Hazard.
More than 25-30M for a Barkley with 11 months worth of contract would be straight up robbery

It's probably because they've just spent £30m on a Burnley player in the last 12 months of his contract. Crazy really - in recent years such a player would be worth a fraction of his price.

Not sure what went wrong with this one, but...

BAYERN WANT €48M FOR SANCHES

Bayern Munich want €48m for their Portuguese attacking midfielder Renato Sanches.

The Bavarian club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said Sanches will have limited opportunities if he remains at the club next term, adding Bayern are open to letting the player go out on loan next season.

“He won’t get enough minutes at Bayern, so we’re willing to negotiate a loan deal and maybe beyond that,” Rummenigge said.

“I’m not the coach, but I think Renato needs regular football. I can confirm Milan’s interest, but talks didn’t progress last week.

“If a club are interested in a Bayern player, they must be ready to deal with significant economic figures and I don’t feel that Milan are ready to meet our demands.

“We’ll say that it wouldn’t be bad if a €48m offer came in for him”

He's shit and overhyped

If there's one thing that holds true on this forum is that everything is disagreed with by someone.

But surely nobody actually thinks, transfer aside, that we should take Barkley and pay him 150k a week??

Ok - have the last say - keep winning the Internet. And keep me up to date on those player law suits

No problem.

Keep me up to date as and when you've actually found the quotes that make you correct. I'll wait for them

In fairness to the situation, not even Barkley thinks that apparently.

(reference: news thing that was released today)

I'm guessing this means we can't sign him until January?

Can still sign 'injured' players, remember Bale was supposedly 'injured' when Real signed him.

We could sign him on a pre-contract in Jan. He'll be free come next season, he's no way worth £30m+ with less than a year left on his contract. If someone else is prepared to pay silly money for him then good luck to them as clubs will know they can get him for less if they hold out.

Barkley is just a front.
Whilst everyone is busy with will he won't he we will quietly go about signing Max Meyer.
We will give them a few million on top of what they owe us for Nabil.

What is the point of signing an injured player when you may need him like tomorrow while Lamela and son are still injured?! We can't rely on Sissiko really.

So, if the big names are all toast, at least the club can find some high-risk/reward youth options that might come good in 18-24 months. That's probably the only way we'll find anyone decent anyway...

Can't sign him on pre-contract in January because he plays for another English club - won't be allowed until he's in his final month.
