Tottenham can't afford to be smug | Daily Mail Online

Ha, we got slated for spending the Bale money now slated for not spending money.

"Will Tottenham even acknowledge their fate these last two seasons?"

Our best two seasons for how many decades?

fate

  1. 1.
the development of events outside a person's control, regarded as predetermined by a supernatural power.

He's upping the trolling levels it seems...

"(Sissoko's) a member of our squad and he’s in my plans for the season and for us he is still a member of the squad"

I'm bemused by the vitriol towards him still. Reading SC, people are comparing him to Adebayor and talking about him like he's Pol Pot.

I mean, what has he done wrong? As far I can see, despite not being very effective last season, he's been trying hard off the pitch and has knuckled down?

Grrr, i would love to go and win it just to shut that fat cunt up.

The Daily Mail sells papers based on hawking opinions from the last century. It seems we can expect no less from their chief sportswriter

He's always bleating on about the lack of English young players getting a chance on the Sunday Supplement as well.

Being contrary is fine with me, as long as you don't keep switching from one extreme to the other.

But we proved last season we couldn't juggle both the league and CL. I can't believe people are agreeing with this that we don't need signings. We do most definitely need signings and we need to add to our squad. It's ridiculous if we are the only club in the whole league not to have made a single signing.

And its ridiculous to keep ignoring the fact that we're the only club who's first team is sorted. Even with Walker out, the next RB will be cover/competition for Tripper I imagine.

It's hilarious all this " we couldn't juggle the CL and PL" stuff.

What exactly are you expecting in the way of signings if you think we are actually going to try and win both next season?!

Fucking lower your expectations man, and get real.

The name of the game is suring up the squad this year. About time people just accept it.

We are not looking to make big signings.

Interpret the noises coming from all our players and manager as the total opposite as much as you want, but don't take your idiocy out on the club.

He's a fucking dinosaur. All those talksport / real football men journos and pundits are. Desperate to still be relevant. Churning out cliches, because it's easier than having a well thought out analytical opinion.

Gary Neville had them all bang to rights when he went on to backup his comments about the majority of football print journalism in this country being full of shit.

Someone should send this to football365 media watch because they will tear him a new one.

Edit: They already have!! Mediawatch: Spending is bad. Not spending is bad - Football365

Hmmm, Greaves, Venables, Clemence, Ardilles, Waddle, Lineker, Gascoigne, Ginola, Klinsmann, Modric, Van der Vaart, Lamela...

Decent XII that, bit light on defenders maybe. Ossie could manage it if he wasn't already playing

:ossie::gazza::vdvcry:
And how many were stars before we bought them? Also, I am laughing that you included VdV and Lamela. Both title winning sides, Hoddle, Bale, Modric, Kane, Dele, Gilzean, King, and Nicholson would argue my case. As does our trophy cabinet.

We don't buy success, we make it.
