Serious question:
1) Does anyone think our current squad can make an impact on the champions league?
2) Does anyone think this squad could win a cup while resting a few key players for most the competition.
*it's a 'No' and 'No' from me
Barkley is the key I reckon!Cup runs are a matter of luck. Our current squad is better then the one of 2010/2011 when we got to the quarter finals.
We got to a final of a cup a few years back and the semi final of one yesterday. Once again, no idea why not.
When everyone's fit, our depth isn't bad at all. Lamela, Davies, Dier, Janssen, Vorm and perhaps a youngster would make up our bench. Get a signing in there like a Barkley, and it's even greater.
Depends on who we get but it's unlikely Napoli and Sevilla both fail to make the group stage so from Pot 3 a hard Group awaits. Safe bet would be to say no to this question, unfortunately.1) Does anyone think our current squad can make an impact on the champions league?
The key to what? The wrong fucking door?
The coaching group obviously see something in him and if he wants to come to Spurs to improve as he says under Poch then why not! He is a full England International for fucks sake!

Janssen isn't doing it for me. Soon as one attacking mid is injured we are back where we were last year- needing N'Koudou to make an impact. When everyone's fit, our depth isn't bad at all. Wouldn't be surprised to nab Barkley at somewhere around £15m with him being in the last year of his contract.
I simply do not get the lack of support of our current policy, one that you agree has moved our club forward (and for the majority moved it further forward than they ever thought possible). When you find something that has delivered significant improvement you stick to it, you bottle it up and you do more of it and repeat it and repeat it some more. I see absolutely no logic whatsoever in abandoning it, ignoring it and going after a different policy. Only when a policy fails should reevaluate it, understand what happen and then fix it, tweak it or ditch it.Yes now we are i agree. Do i think we can maintain or eventually push on with the current policy? Maintain maybe but no to pushing on.
I just don't think we have the squad to juggle competitions as things stand. On the CL:
As for cups, uh, why not? We were in the semis of the FA cup last year with the same squad, and the league cup tie against Liverpool came at a bad time for us. There is a great amount of draw luck in cups, but to act like we can't win a domestic cup with this squad is a bit much. You don't think we would have beat United in the league cup final last year?
It will be an "undisclosed fee"- to avoid Everton having to publicly admit that Levy pulled their pants down.

Cup runs aren't just luck though and the league cup is often won by the team with the strongest B team.
If we stay in the CL beyond the groups I cant see us playing a team of much strength in the cups
He did, the implication of his statement is still very clear though is it not? with or without the word "if", there is no other alternative offered other than the one put forward.

Such lack of belief and faith in the policy that has gotten us to where we are is truly mind boggling. But each to their own.
