There are different ways to dis-accept the team's performance: for a club like Burnley who are level on points, the fans may be like - nice try guys, if they finish 9th or something.
For us, we react more like, guys wtf. Sure the players tune it out at the pitch, and their social media accounts are only read by their PR people, but the message does filter through.
It takes that kind of pressure to push the players to perform - that's the impact of supporters attending games, it's not just down to managers to let off a half time hairdryer, and support isn't just a matter of cheering, sometimes you have to show you're pissed off as well.
