2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA 14th June - 15th July

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Henderson was bad but if you asked scousers on Twitter right now they are saying Henderson is world class and the best player at the tournament. The whole of scouser Twitter is slagging off Kane saying he shouldn’t be captain because in their own words “You need a translator to understand him”. This is coming from the inbreeds of Pool.

Maybe this is only me but if we dropped a small atomic bomb on Liverpool that was only contained to Liverpool, I wouldn’t mind it at all.

Draw and everything said would've been differant. The result doesn't take away the poor performance, the lack of ideas and certainly doesmt make Southgate a tactical genius. Tunisia weren't good, England were poor, piss poor. England should always be able to pull out result agsinst a team as this or is everyone suggesting differant?

I'm giving Henderson shit, but honestly he was not good. He had one really good pass to Trippier and kicked the ball really hard and straight at the Tunisian keeper once, but outside of that he looked jittery on the ball and didn't do much going forward. Didn't make any mistakes but certainly wasn't pivotal in any sense of the word.

He's transformed this team. A team that is so young it will get better, just like Spurs have done under Poch. It's early days but he's been ruthless with this squad so far.

There are strong parallels with Pochettino, and not just the obvious Spurs presence in the team.

It reminds me of the time Pochettino culled the squad of negative influences, and went for inexperienced youth instead. Prior to that we were soulless...just a boring collective with no character whatsoever, just like many England teams over the years. Afterwards we had an identity again, and a sense of camaraderie between the players.

There’s echoes of that with Southgate’s England. I still think the last 8 would represent a good tournament for us, but for once I think that if / when we go out it won’t be for a lack of trying.

xG was Tunisia 0.1 (+1 pen) - England 3.1 - this was poor finishing by players not named Kane, not a poor performance overall. Southgate was fine, I don't think Kane's goals are papering over any massive cracks in the squad.

To be honest, after getting away with one tonight (bar some shite reffing) I'm fine being over the moon. I'd happily take playing like this and winning every game

The absolute key word is identity. It's not there for the 90mins, the one big issue is when a team matches us up we've struggled but tonight despite the struggle we persevered, didn't go long ball pumping it into the box, we trusted the system and even after we made subs. I love that. Lot's of work to do but if we can put away just half of those chances we missed the game is done and dusted before it's even difficult.
