I personally am not happy with not signing anyone. But then again I am not sure we can? Obviously I don’t have all the facts to hand but I am pretty sure if we are looking at any players that City, Chelski, Liverpool or Woolwich are looking at also I am pretty sure we can’t compete on transfer money or wages.
So where does that leave us? Well I think good scouting and finding Alli type players for little money. For example Grealish looked like that type of player but now we are hearing silly money for him like 40mil and 65/70 for Zaha for Christ sake! It’s just crazy.
Hopefully they have been looking far and wide and will come up with a diamond in the rough.
But I don’t expect to see any marquee signings.
So I hope we do get some in, and also some out but time is getting short now.
If we end up with nothing, given the fact we are going to be seriously short on players for the beginning of the season. Then playing at Wembley then switching to our new stadium, I do think we could end up with a bad start. And with teams streath in depth around us I think top 4 would be tough. Not impossible but very tough ask.

Top 4 is always tough. That'll never change. But 9+ of these players just had one of the biggest learning experiences of their footballing careers at the World Cup. I think it'll do them the world of good mentally about winning. Especially the younger ones. Our squad is stronger simply for that fact.
I mean, Dele came to us as a central midfielder. Broke into our team as a central midfielder and got into the England team as a central midfielder.
Him being deeper doesn't stop him from scoring goals. The best part of his game is his movement. Running from deep, late runs in the box. Ability to use his creativity from deep, like we saw in his first season for us.
The most exciting thing about a Poch 433 is the unpredictability of the movement of our players. Potentially Dele, Eriksen, Lucas, Son and Kane all available for the ball. Every single of those works for the team.

Really a club of our current stature should be able to get in a good WF/ FWD for Son & to help take the burden off of Kane, a good CM that has the potential to be a long term replacement for Dembele and someone like Grealish as a promising player to help take the burden off of creativity in CM and Eriksen.
We should also be able to find a club, somewhere in the World that would be interested in taking Janssen, Sissoko, Dembele, Nkoudou and Llorente off our hands.
I'm a very big fan of how the club has moved forward recently and will always stick by them, but I do get a little bewildered that there are potentially 8 deals, 9 if we include Alderweirelds inevitable departure that could have gone through based on what the squad really does require yet not a single one of them has happened.
I like the look of Skipp and I'd be fine with him stepping up this year if he's ready, Amos I don't know if he's got the right level of class but to have all of our deadwood still at the club is slightly concerning with 1 week left to get incomings wrapped up
