Dembele and Wambyamba are gone. Dier is okay but I'm not sure if our midfield is any better with him replacing Sisso or Winksy. Gotta improve in this area me thinks.

We aren't signing a central midfielder in January. Simple as that.

If we do, he'll be joining up in the summer.

Dembele, Dier, Eriksen, Dele, Sissoko, Winks, Skipp.

These are our midfield options. We've moved to a diamond formation so that leaves us needing 3 midfielders and an attacking midfielder which is usually Dele/Eriksen/Lamela or we could move to a 433 and bring Lucas in.

Dembele and Dier are both in training now. So unless Dembele is sold, we have 7 players for 3 positions. Pochettino will be more than happy with that until the summer. He's got this far with that. I'm sure he can go a further 5 months. That's not even including Wanyama, who will probably never play another game for us again.

Is Amos out for the season?

We will ponder and hope and discuss all month, betwixt the mass of important games.

Pochettino will do as he always does and Levy is likely to seek to extract every last penny for the players who rarely play and to squeeze the life out of any club suggesting they might sell.

It's fine in as much and as far as it goes but for me if the net result of January is an extension of being the only club in the history of the Premier League not to buy players then it's adios.

And that's simply because Pochettino will see it as s p!ss take in my opinion.
