Insurance runs deep in general aviation. It goes beyond the licenses; if you don't have enough hours in corresponding air-frames then insurance won't play ball, because too many successful doctors and lawyers pass their basic licenses, then go out and buy a plane they're not ready for yet and fly it into the side of a mountain.

Whatever has happened isn't Nantes issue though. For me it's upnto Cardiff & the insurance companies to sort it. Nantes shouldn't go without what they have been promised. It could get very messy it's a shame this news has broke and couldn't be kept under wraps

A broader context for the term is valid, it doesn't begin and end at buying a car.
Fault hasn't even been determined, yet. A body that was recovered hasn't been identified, yet. Most clubs probably don't have established protocol for stuff like this, it's completely understandable for Cardiff to call their lawyers and ask "uhhh, what the fuck do we do now?"
