Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Is ndombele gonna be real or going to enter all time never signed eleven with the likes of Moutinho, damiao, schneiderlin and jay Rodriguez?

I can’t take it again lads. I’m not strong like I was :pochcry:

June 30th - end of financial year
July 8th - start of Spurs training camp
July 17th - estimated date team departs for pre-season tour
August 8th - end of transfer window

Hopefully we can get a good chunk of business over the line by July 8th, and maybe one player after July 17th. When business gets done is as much an indicator of transfer strategy as who we bring in.

Or even one chunk of business would be nice...

Guess we are in the Levy-Aulas "game of chicken" phase right now. It's true that Lyon have CL and there is no real reason that Ndombele needs to leave just yet. I just hope Ndombele doesn't get turned off by our lack of willingness to spend on him. I don't think he seems like that kind of player, but, for sure some would be, especially with sell-on fees and agents in their ear, wanting a cut.

I also read elsewhere that Lo Celso is spooked by our lack of a high bid for him.
Not sure if it's real or not but apparently Poch called him to explain Levy's bidding/negotiation style.

It's the hope and the waiting that kills you!

If we just got Ndombele and kept Eriksen (new 2 year deal?), I'd be happy with the summer window.

I assume you've heard him interviewed or something similar. Exactly what are his views?
Perhaps he's anti semitic too in which case he won't be coming.😀
He goes on about bombing Catalans and Basques coz he's y'know, a proper patriot, and tweeted some vile shit about the breasts of 15 year old girls and the BJs they give. In his defence he was 17 at the time but even so, he has never apologised for it or said that was then and his views have changed.

I also don't think he's that great and wonder if he's the sort that would adapt well to life in England

100% agree. Unfortunately Eriksen seemed too be left out of the fray when Spurs started locking in contracts for Kane, Alli & Son. In my opinion he is more integral to this team and worth at least as much money as these other players. It will take some time for another player to step in and be as effective in Spurs style of play. Its been fukn frustrating to watch as a fan, so I can only imagine how disappointed Eriksen has been throughout this process, and I think this has had a massive effect on his performance last season.

If we do in fact lose Eriksen, and drop the ball on securing Lo Celso or other replacement due to tight fisted offers, we could end up without a true world class playmaker next season. No point having all this class up front if no one can get the frickn ball to them. Winks has been solid with his passing and distribution, but he doesn't possess the vision and creativity Eriksen displays.

You do know that it was Eriksen who didn't want to sign a new improved contract don't you ? Didn't want a longer contract in exchange for circa £130k PW 2 years ago.

Kane Dele and most of the others happy to sign.

That is why Eriksen left on low wages. Same as Toby not wanting new contract.

Spurs can offer higher wages but cannot make the player accept
