He hasn't exactly looked that in the Copa. Looked below average out on the wing for Argentina in their two games.

Tournaments are an age old problem - is a player who has looked good to Poch's scouts during a season any the worse if he plays poorly in a tournament ? And the concensus seems to be its the whole Argentina team.

And do you buy a player who shines in a tournament but been anonymous in the season before ?

Certainly puts into reality that Poch might want Celso, but no point in paying the demanded £70m/£80m , DL is right to negotiate to an upper sum of say £50m, especially as others not bidding
high. At some stage if Betis don't lower their expectations, we will need to move into other players imo

We reportedly were last summer.

Not a ball carrier from what I've seen.... Just a shithousing DM that had some growing up to do.
Not a ball carrier, but someone who (immensely effectively) wins back possession and is always available for a pass. He can run with the ball, he is extremely effective in defence and like I say would have been a Kante type player. Possibly even better than Kante as he is stronger.

Ahhh I remember the 95th minute at the Etihad when Eriksen was near the halfway line, could have hoofed the ball up the pitch but in his true to form style decided to turn around and pass the ball to Sergio Aguero was it, who laid it to Sterling who basically knocked us out.

But for a 1cm offside VAR call.......not the first time over the years he’s done that either, but no one cares because we can usually blame Trippier
I think no one cares to much as we went through, had the goal stood would have been a very different story!

Don’t dodge my argument. Were this fame of Portuguese players being flops came? From ricardo Carvalho? Rui Patricio? João Moutinho? Bernardo Silva? Paulo Ferreira? Pepe? Ricardo pereira? Nani? Meireles? Ruben Neves? André Gomes?
And I could go on. Really don’t see why you say that mate.

Pauleta, best no. 9 to come out of Portugal for years. Despite him starting in Brazil, I liked Deco.

Which players perception are you talking about? Our players or players from the other 5 clubs? I think our players would love to win as most of them have won nothing in their career.

Any player that wants a new challenge (aka bigger club) having spent a number of years at Spurs.....

I don't believe we're looking to sell but if a huge offer comes in we'll consider it for a player in the last year of his contract,I believe no one will buy him at the price set. Hope that's clear.

No quotes in that article, but I'll take t as serious as I can for the purposes of this conversation.....

What we'd rather is fairly obvious... Renewed contract and probablly sell him in a couple more years.... UNTIL that is he did his little dance with the media.... From there despite your claims we don't KNOW how Poch/Levy feel about Eriksen's commitment (as already noted Levy is alleged to be pissed off!).

Key here (for us) is a new deal for CE, yet it is the least likely scenario considering CE's declared desires and the fact that he holds the cards here.

It might be, it could be that playing in the world cup with no rest is a factor, could be his home life is a factor, I don't know but neither do you.

Like I've already said... Any speculation and detromental impressions are CE's own fault... See interview.

All I said was I'm not holding him to a different standard to others who work. You had already decided that you wouldn't accept my answer if it didn't align with your view. Another reason why your question was pointless.

......Couldn't I say exactly the same thing about you? ....Couldn't one say that about any single exchange on here? ....How often do we genuinely change each other's minds.?

Being trolled by the press isn't really an excuse to be unclear about his own future and that's what he's been with his comments, he's continued to diplomatically criticise the board in the press but that doesn't breach your code of conduct, but Eriksen comments does.

See above.... Ironically, you're evidently not prepared to entertain the distinctions I'm making here.

I'm pointing out that the manager's commitments to the press are entirely different and he has to manage a vastly different scenario.... CE can ultimately refuse to talk to the press. Poch can't and therefor has to run the gauntlet and regularly face invasive, trolling and dishonest questioning numerous times every damn week.

Not really, in response to me pointing out that he has 10 goals and 12 assists which makes him the 4th highest scorer at the club you said
'Pardon me for not getting too excited....' and

'Hardly a shop window season.' There is no one who has more assists than Eriksen, the closest is Son with 6 assists. So he's got 6 more assists than the second place guy. But hey hardly a shop window season right?

My perception (and subsequent appreciation) of his seasosn is relative to the standards HE's set.

Yet you've presented a list of wealthy clubs that allegedly want to pay top dollar for his services.

False. I presented list of clubs that would fit his criteria in the face of you claiming to KNOW that no other club besides RM could nor do have any interest in signing him.

Fundamental point being you're presenting baseless speculation as fact again.

With all that and you singling him out for the CL defeat,

False again. Show me where I've singled him out for our defeat?

it's perfectly reasonable that I should think you have an agenda against him.

No it isn't. You're building the bulk of this aspect of your case on falsehood.

CE's made his bed here... Not me.

He's more like Kante than any of those.

Rice, Marsh or Skipp have never ran round totally snuffing out the Argentine midfield and knocking Messi off the ball.

He’s more Rice than he is Kante. He’s tenacious and quite energetic without the ball but he’s much more one dimensional than Kante is.

2017 Wanyama was better than Barrios.

If you just told Marsh to zip around kicking Messi, he’d do it fine. Skipp would do it and play a bit of football.

Either way, nothing like Dembele?

That sounds lovely, but Dembele was fundamenally a ball carrier that broke lines and created time and space for us to play.

506 days since our last signing and still going strong!

Watch football mate.....stop living in 2016 like most of the fanbase.

Eriksen, Dele and Kane have been shit.

It’s not treason to admit it.

17 league goals..
Only Defoe and Bale have higher returns since Klinsmann in 1995.

Are you going to tell me that strikers are judged on how they return from injury rather than how many goals they score?
