Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I pretty much agree, but also the same logic applies even more to Sissoko, 29yo, in whom we have 55m invested in fees/wages and has 2 years left on a deal and with the improvements we are Making to the squad, should not be anywhere near the first team.

Now is possibly the last window to get maybe 10-15m of that return back, and that will still work out as one of the worst investments we’ve ever made. 35-40m for one ho hum season.

You honestly have no idea about football do you? Stats don’t mean fuck all. Clearly you live and die by them but still can’t see how fucking ludicrously good Sissoko has been for us, it’s depressing

Good shout

I have a suggestion for a Toby replacement too, right sided young centre half and also playing in the Bundesliga

Koch - N'Dicka as a centre back partnership. Hell yeah

I guess the question of whether we need a right-sided CB for the future depends on how much you believe in Sanchez and Foyth. I don't have much faith in Foyth at CB but I have a fair bit of confidence in Sanchez.

This is straight off the back of City making him a target now the Maguire price is so insane, 40m is just a number plucked from thin air, if I was B'mouth I'd just ask for 1m less than Maquire ... no way we're paying that money nor will City ... there's far better options for that sort of budget.
agree the PL defenders have insane price tags.

Why aren't Spurs in for

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2019/...already-have-personal-terms-agreed-with-star/

the guy looks quality, arguably more skillful than anything we have at the moment and also the added satisfaction of snatching a transfer away from Woolwich

So after another day, are we agreed the next signings to be announced are likely to be :

Sessegnon - Ryan and Steven
Lo Celso
Either Olmo or Ceballos, and if Ceballos he is part payment from the Eriksen sale deal

after that maybe ( and in no particular order) :
A striker or winger striker
Centre back ( dependent on Toby staying or going or maybe just early for next summer)
Right Back ( but this may be next summer if right players are not available)
3rd GK. ( Unless Alfie Whiteman already given the role)

Thoughts ?

Btw has anyone checked the credit limit on Danny's credit card lately ?

Yeah Joe Lewis?

I don't like to pay too much attention to the transfer window, or transfer window gossip because it reminds me how little control I have over life, including my own lol.

That being said, I'm extremely happy we signed Ndombele. If Ceballos happens I think he will be great first XI competition for winks, and may even possibly force winks to start playing out of his comfort zone and develop even further. I'm not sold on Lo Celso, especially as an Eriksen replacement. If we do spend that amount of money on him I hope he surprises me. (Pretty sure Eriksen is out of here)

Other than that my main concern is Trippier and Rose both up for sale without a vetted RB or LB being associated with Tottenham yet?

Levy is going to have to paint his masterpiece to wiggle out of this Eriksen and Alderweireld situation without losing his shirt one way or another.

Not really - even if they both leave for nothing we will have had them on ridiculously cheap contracts for five years ... that's probably saved us 80m in wages over that time .... just might suit Poch to keep two elder statesmen for another year whilst he beds in the new lads ... we could even release them in January for a few million if they are surplus at that point ....

Of course it would be better if they signed extensions or went for big money, but no disaster if they don't.

In the round this is correct.

Consider what Woolwich have paid to Ozil
and Aubameyang in the last 2 years

There's no point arguing with bus boy. Hewill never admit he's wrong.

Just ignore the bloke. Anyone with a brain can see how good Sissoko was this season.

There's no point arguing with bus wanker.

The blind ignorant prick will never admit he's wrong.

But the stats Goat, the stats....
It's only true if the stats support it - his throw in assist figures and stats for headers back to his own keeper back me up completely.
You're as bad as the people who think Jimmy Greaves was a club legend when his stats for preventing corners in his own back third are atrocious

Here we go with the Sissoko cunt-off again..... we’re not all at one extreme or the other.

Personally, I always noticed how the team would ping passes at pace to almost everyone except Moussa. Dele, Chris, Winksy all have soft feet - they receive a ball and make it sit. They are natural footballers.
With Moussa it’s like passing to a brick wall. Watch they players around him - they take precious time to weight the pass to him, if they don’t they know we’ll lose possession. He’s not a great footballer and we’ll have moved up a level when he can’t make our bench. I look forward to that day - it may be soon (were in the transfer thread after all).

None of which is to deny that Moussa has huge strength, is great at disrupting play, good at driving forward, and seems to be a nice lad who’s extremely popular with the team. He had a bloody good season for sure but I agree w VS.

Agree with your last paragraph, disagree with your first.

Where I disagree with BC is that he fundamentally hates Sissoko on every level, has never been able to back up his ridiculous opinion with fact, and thinks continually repeating his hatred of Sissoko will turn people to supporting his views.

End of.

You’re going to look a right cunt when we start with a midfield of Sissoko, Ndombele and Winks next season

Our gratitude should go to Sissoko for last season.

At times we were struggling to put out a coherent midfield due to injuries, loss of form. He was the one person we could consistently rely on to give everything for the team and turn in a performance.

Ok, he has footballing limitations as discussed at length and he may now struggle to make the starting lineup with all these new acquisitions, but we owe him.
